in Chicago for 1st time this July 30/31 - staying at Hyatt Regency - love to get referrals to one of a kind, great finds - overall something different. Would like to stick to walking distance of hotel but will travel. Want pizza for sure - other than that - taking all suggestions.

On one of my trips to NYC we went to a coffee/bakery in LI - totally old school inside, time stopped at 1942 or something. Had espresso and a pastry - all good except the surly servers...which I can not be bothered by.
I can't remember the name at all and want to go back in 2 wks when I come for visit after doing a walking tour.

I have stated on SI at a hotel about a mile away from the mall and had great (at least I thought) pizza from this little family owned restaurant. It's in a strip mall near a Chili's I think.
