All inclusive Resorts with great food?

Wow, sushi in the DR. Honestly, that would scare the heck out of me given the fact you cannot touch the water.

Family style restaurant in the san Juan area

Mamadem's rec for Pikayo is excellent but it is not local food nor inexpensive.

Family style restaurant in the san Juan area

the place you refer to is Metropole. It's great local Cuban and PR food. I love the chicken stuffed with rice and beans. WOW

Best hotel food in caribbean - where ?

I agree Grande Case has some great food but not sure one hotel has it all. If I had to pick I would go to Anguilla. Cap Jaluca has several dining options. Plus Caprice and others are within a short ride. I love Anguilla and think the dining is great. Luna Rosa is fabulous..

In Antigua I love Carlisle Bay. The food is amazing. Nearby you can dine in Dockyard too at Kesari, Abracadabra and beyond.

I do not believe in staying in one resort to eat..too many temptations beyond the door worthy of your palate..in ANY island.

CRAWFISH BOILS

I was reading that Crawfish are bad to eat..they are farmed and the toxicity levels are high. Bummer as I adore them..or used to..

Dinner post-elopement in Cape Cod

Is Bramble open Jan.? If so that is a great idea. Gracie's is very dark and not suited to an elopement dinner IMHO. I have enjoyed the bar on several occassions with tapas. Red Pheasant would be romantic but bring a sweater..I am chilled there often.

Dinner post-elopement in Cape Cod

What time of year? I love Red Pheasant but find I am always cold there in the Winter (the only time I seem to dine there actually). Linnell is charming. My friend had her wedding there...we have dined many a holiday there as well. Abba is funky and fantastic. I do not find the dining too too romantic but love it. Do not know CB.

eggless eggnog

I know nutty eh? I do not eat eggs..any non egg versions please?

Cape Cod Pizza

Stella's at the Hilltop Plaza on 6 A in Orleans closed but it's replacement is pretty darn good. Hillcrest has a lovely think crispy / chewy whole wheat dough. I ordered a large Mediterranean with fresh tomato, garlic, spinach (frozen, not my fav), feta and fresh mozz. It was lovely. 19.00 plus tax. They serve lime rickeys and other cool stuff. Nice music, funky vibe.

Great soup on the Cape

Andale Cafe in Harwich has a great tortilla soup. Call ahead to make sure they have it. My teen swears by the French Onion Soup at Scargo Cafe. I know you won't want to go there but I do mention it.

Best Chinese on Cape Cod

My colleague and I were chatting about Chinese food on Cape Cod. She loves Wok n Roll (S. Yarmouth near Irie Cafe) and has the inside scoop that it is very clean. My teen loves Golden Fountain in Hyannis. What is your favorite? I am craving a new spot. Regarding other Asian cuisines, I am bored with Thai (Bangkok Cuisine in Dennis) and Thuan Loi (Vietnamese) is closed for the Winter. Thanks! Mid Cape recs only please.

Scargo Cafe in Dennis Village

I am a bit of a food snob and never really liked Scargo Cafe. My teen and I were craving soups and I wanted grapenut pudding so we decided to try Scargo on a lark. It has been about 10 years since we had been. We went at 1:30 for lunch mid week. It was packed and loud. Our server was great. I had the lobster bisque salad special. The salad dressing was a home made veggie vinagrette. It was amazing. The salad was fresh and colorful with many lovely veggies. The bisque was a cup with a topping of fresh lobster meat. It was luke warm but tasty. The taste was slightly salty but I enjoyed it. My teen had the French onion soup. It too was luke warm but she enjoyed it. The grapenut custard was lovely.

Fried Clams on Cape Cod

Holden is 120 miles from Cape Cod, n'est pas?

Has anyone tried Cancun Mexican Rest. in Johnston, RI?

Is this a chain? I saw a sign on route 3 for one in MA

Scottish food / recipes

You may do well to post this under homecooking. Good luck.

Puerto Rico -- San Juan, El Yunque/Fajardo, Culebra

Do try Pamela's at Numero Uno Guest House in Ocean Park. Pikayo is a great add to do.

Best Donuts in New England

I have been craving donuts for some odd reason. No, I am not pregnant. I would love to hear your take on the best of the best near Cape Cod or Worcester please?

Is Butlers still good in Westport? Never been but have been wanting to go...

No Juice Grapefruit

I bought a bag of grapefruit. There is hardly any juice and the fruit is too hard to eat. Aside from the trash any creative ideas to use them?

A week in Provincetown Mass. around Thanksgiving

Ross's was too noisey for my taste.

Cape Cod....Orleans to P'town weekend after Thanksgiving

Further to this The Beachcomber is only open Memorial Day to Labour Day. I love The Mews in P Town.

wedding venues

Wequasett Inn in Harwich..heaven...on the sea, laid back if you want it to be,..

Shangri La in Plymouth

Good to know..the Indian woman understood me but the server did not..now I understand why...

Shangri La in Plymouth

A few months ago someone put a take out menu on our car when we were at the Independence Mall for this Indian Nepal restaurant. We were coming home from Boston and I needed some spicy food as I had a whopper of a cold. We stopped here on Main St. in Plymouth. The place was empty at 1:30. Not a good sign. We opted for the lunch buffet. My teen was grimacing because she said the place smelled like feet. I could not smell a thing so forged ahead to the buffet. It was fine..nothing special nothing bad. The dessert was a sort of bread pudding made with horrid white bread. It was simply bad. Service was not great. I ordered Chai tea no milk and got Lipton. I explained I prefered Chai tea. He told me Lipton was Chai. I explained it was not. He never brought the tea but it was on my bill (which he removed). Off place...Won't go back there...

Babysitting 5 year old foodie, need rec.s for an educational dining experience.

I am a school counselor and a Mom to a chowhound. I think its great you want to make your time so special..for this age group I think any sushi bar will be fun to watch the color and motion and for the speed of service..I defer to sushi lovers in Beantown to share their ideas. I had sushi at Ginza and it was quite good. Keep it simple. I would keep the trip to 30-45 min from your home due to bathroom and attentional issues.

NE Institute of Art

we head out this weekend...will try Minsok or Tashi Dalek. Not in favour of an Irish pub although I am Irish, passport and all.

Jamaican in Cape Cod

We had lunch at the Jerk Cafe in S. Yarmouth today. Across from the Riverway Lobster House, this hole in the wall located in a less than pretty strip store row offers delicious West Indian style cuisine. Today we sampled curry chicken and jerk chicken. Both were served with lovely rice and beans and fresh veggies including butter beans, cabbage and carrots. The owner Chef Shrimpy is a fun loving character with a personality the shines and food that warms the heart and fills the stomach. He has oxtail, fish, shrimp and other creative dishes.

He promises to have Ting, patties and Jamaican Breakfasts in the near future.

NE Institute of Art

thanks..I truly appreciate all recs. I of course prefer recs on places tried as I should mention, am going with some picky chowhounds..haa

Who's hitting the Wellfleet Oyster Festival this weekend?

Lex, Harvest Wine Bar and Art Gallery has E. Dennis Oysters (cultivated) for .99 each every Friday night when the month ends with the letter "r". That's where I am headed next Friday.

NE Institute of Art

We are going to their open house Nov. 8. Their location is 10 Brookline Place West . Any great lunch recs for a Sat. for 5 of us? We love ethnic and moderate priced.

Who's hitting the Wellfleet Oyster Festival this weekend?

I prefer to get my oysters off site..too many people..
