Going away party: bar with food?

I think downtown, Chelsea, LES, West or East Village. I know this is the Manhattan board, but I'd also be open to Brooklyn, within 20 minutes of Manhattan by subway. Thank you!

Going away party: bar with food?

I'm leaving town next week and would like to have a big get-together at a bar before I go. I'm not sure how many people will be coming by, but I'd like to keep it casual, allowing people to come and go as they please, staying for a drink or several. I'd also like for there to be food if possible. Does anyone know of a bar that could accommodate a large group without a reservation and that is festive and hopefully serves little bites to eat? Seating would also be a big plus! Thanks everyone.

21st Birthday Dinner in Paris

I am currently studying abroad in Paris and my mother very generously agreed to pay for a 21st birthday dinner here for some friends and me. Does anyone have suggestions for a festive spot that is not too pricey (about 40 euro per person seems reasonable) for a group of about 7? I would like to eat French cuisine, since I am in Paris, but am open to other suggestions as well! Thanks!

Cheap 20th Birthday Dinner Party!

I am turning 20 and want to have a dinner with about ten friends. The catch is we are all poor college students and I want to be sure that everyone can have plenty of food for a low, low price. I'd really say less that $25 per person would be ideal. We are all good eaters, but some guests are vegetarians, so there should be options for them. I did dinner at Goody's in Chinatown last year and that was fun, delicious and the kind of thing I'd like to repeat this year, but I'd like to switch it up. Suggestions please?

College student, PARENTS VISITING!!

I think a comfortable price is 30-40 per person.

College student, PARENTS VISITING!!

I'm a college sophomore in Manhattan and my parents are coming from San Francisco for a weekend visit. I want to go someplace nice that I wouldn't be able to go to with my little student budget without really breaking the bank. My parents are old-fashioned types who like joints with character that aren't too trendy. Paps is a steak and potatoes kind of guy. Recommendations for a hearty brunch, and old new yorky dinner or lunch spot? Anywhere in manhattan is great. Thanks!!

Intimate Birthday Dinner

I am having a small family birthday dinner for six in Manhattan. I really want to go someplace wonderful and for this event, money is not an issue. I am not so interested in a trendy restaurant, but rather a place with delicious food and a comfortable atmosphere. I know this is a vague post, but I would like suggestions for a special-occasion type restaurant.

Where to take my Texan niece??!!!

My niece is visiting from Houston and I would like to take her to dinner in Westchester. I do not want to spend too much money, but I would like her to try something specific to this region (or not as long as it's good!). She says she will eat anything. Any suggestions for something an 18 year old girl might like? I am clueless!

Cinco de Mayo

I'm looking for an authentic inexpensive Mexican restaurant for a fun Cinco de Mayo dinner. Anywhere in Manhattan and nothing too fancy please.
