Bill, I intend to take the H3 from the airport to 83. And then all the way up to Turtle Bay. Isn't that doable?
And then driving to the airport through central Oahu by your directions above, but in the reverse of course.

I am so totally confused now. I thought I knew where I was going. Leaving the airport, going across to east side. Traveling up to Turtle Bay. Staying a week and then going back down to the airport on west side. Seems so easy. So glad i have GPS.....

Luibueno sounds great for a meal when staying at Turtle Bay. We are traveling all the way up east side to Turtle Bay. And then back down to the airport for a 2 p.m flight on the west side. And, thank you for the info on the road connection. I have a great map from mapeasy.com

We will be traveling from HNL up to Turtle Bay around lunch time. Any suggestion for lunch along the way. Have not found much on a search on the east side. We thought we would drive up on east and back down on west side a week later.
Dinner walking distance Hilton HV
Looking for a dinner suggestion a close walking distance to Hilton HV. Husband cannot walk too far. Any kind of food. We like it all. Price range about $60 pp or less. I know Morimoto is not a favorite on this board but we are going to give it a try one night. Need one other dinner before we head up to North Shore.
House Without A Key
I see that Halekulani is having some refurbishment done. Is HWAK being affected? We are staying at Hilton Hawaiian Village. Can we walk the beach and enter HWAK on beachside. Or do we have to take the longer route and enter on road side.

We will ultimately be heading east on 80. But time is not an issue. We can go to 101 in either direction and then find our way back to 80.

Is this impossible to find? Any type food. We are not picky, but would like a memorable lunch. Will be in S.F. for a few days and would like a nice lunch after checking out of our hotel and before heading back on the road. Location not an issue. Restaurant recs needed all along 101!!!
We live in Newport, Oregon. Travel 101 quite a bit going to SF. Here are a few of my recs. We frequently spend the night at Carter House in Eureka. Wonderful hotel, but wouldn't recommend the restaurant. We like the Waterfront Cafe. Nice bar, good food.
Several good places to eat in Newport. Lunch and dinner at both Local Ocean Seafoods and Saffron Salmon. We dine at both at least once a month. I would have to say the menu at Local Ocean is a little more original. Excellent seafood. But you can't beat the clam chowder at Saffron Salmon. Stay away from Mo's. Tourists only and mediocre food.

We live in Newport. Central Oregon coast. Two excellent restaurants for lunch or dinner. Local Ocean Seafood or Saffron Salmon. Avoid the lines at all the Mo's restaurants. Tourist trap.

I really hate to bring up a sad subject. But what seafood/fish will not be on the menu next week because of the oil spill. Have not read too much about this on CH and just wanted to know what is missing from the menus. We are very much looking forward to our return to NOLA and this will not spoil our trip.

We will be cruising in a few months. Getting off the ship in the a.m. Our flight does not leave until 4. After checking in and leaving our bags we would like to have a nice lunch and cocktails somwhere before our flight leaves'. Is there somewhere fairly close with very good or exceptional food. We live in Newport. About half way between Portland and Gold Beach. A good stop for lunch. Two good suggestions for lunch. Saffron Salmon and Local Ocean Seafood. Any questions about this area, ask......Love the Tu Tu Tun.

I have heard that Vancouver has Chinese restaurants with live king crab in tanks that they will clean and cook for you. Do you know of any walking distance to the Pan Pacific Hotel?
Lunch spots close to I 5
We will be traveling up I 5 to Seattle in a few weeks. Looking for a lunch spot close to the freeway just a little north of Portland. Not a chain. Just somewhere we can get a beer and a good sandwich - or small plate. And, the beer is for me, not the driver.
guu jump around night?
We will be in Vancouver soon and I have been reviewing posts - all day. Guu in gastown is close to our hotel. Reviewing the menu on their website and see Tuesday is "jump around night". What is that???? Hope this isn't a stupid question.
