Family from Italy visiting - Need dinner recommendations in Theatre District

Thank you. Is that because you don't think these restaurants will live up to what they are used to or because they should try something new :)

Family from Italy visiting - Need dinner recommendations in Theatre District

Hi All, we have family coming from Italy who have never been to NYC or the States for that matter. I don't believe they are adventurous eaters but own a restaurant and recognize quality.
Right now the choices we are looking at are:
La Masseria
Trattoria TreColori
Beacon
Becco
Criteria is good quality food that won't send us to the poor house as we are a part of eight (adults ). Would love to find a restaurant w/modern ambience - not too loud - but having trouble finding the menu and the atmosphere that work near the theatre. Can you help shed some light on these choices? I've read most the reviews which is how I gathered this list. Any suggestions on Italian or steakhouses w/character are so welcome.
Thank you, thank you!

Indian w/great atmosphere

Yago Homo - Spice Market is exactly the type of atmosphere I was looking for except it needs to be Indian :( Any recommendations? Our son has quite a sophisticated palate and almost 18 so more of a young adult . . .

Carmel Area Restaurant Needed (Dungeness Crab)

Baseballfan - we are staying at the Tickle Pink Inn next door so that makes it convenient for us as well. Thank you for confirming our choice :)

Carmel Area Restaurant Needed (Dungeness Crab)

Thank you all - that's exactly what we are looking for. Pacific's Edge is our Anniversary dinner w/a view but not typical of establishments we frequent. Thanks for the tip on the Pinot Roar and everything else which is very helpful. We can't wait to report back!

Carmel Area Restaurant Needed (Dungeness Crab)

Thank you - I had Passionfish on my list so that makes it easy. How was the rest of your experience there?

Carmel Area Restaurant Needed (Dungeness Crab)

Thank you for the tip! I forgot to mention that we are also looking for a restaurant that offers Dungeness crab on their menu. It doesn't have to be for dinner.

Carmel Area Restaurant Needed (Dungeness Crab)

My husband and I will be in the Carmel area for two nights in June. We have reservations for one night at the Pacific's Edge and need another recommendation for our second night. We would prefer seafood or Italian and a casual atmosphere with great food and not too loud. Some of the restaurants that I have been looking at include: Catinetta Luca, Flying Fish Grill, Piatti, Christopher's, Fresh Cream and Fandango. Recommendations very much needed. Thanks.

florence

Trattoria Mama Gina's on Borgo S. Jacopo which is very close to the Ponte Vecchio has been consistently good every time we have eaten there. They have the best Tuscan Bean Dish, they speak English and everything we have ever eaten has been fabulous. We always gone for lunch not dinner and the prices have been reasonable. It is somewhat touristy given the location but it never felt that way to us. I would highly recommend it. http://www.mammagina.it/UK/index.htm

Fondue

Probably too late to reply as you have already been to Manhattan however, Swizz is a good Fondue choice that is close to the theatre, w/friendly and prompt service, a great housewine and a cute little outdoor courtyard with a few tables in the back.
I have had better fondue (not in NYC) but I would go back to Swizz if I was craving Fondue again while in Manhattan.

2 Nights in San Francisco - Dinner Choices

I do love a really good caesar salad but I have to say I have been spoiled 'cause hubby makes the best I've ever tasted - seriously - but Zuni's sounds like a wonderful brunch local which I will try. Whenever good bread is involved I am there. Thanks for all the tidbits!

2 Nights in San Francisco - Dinner Choices

You guys are good . . .and fast! Ok I'm pretty sure you have talked me into Boulevard and Incanto. I hate to ask this because I know it will start my head spinning again - but if there is another restaurant that you think meets my criteria - that I have missed or at least need to take a serious look at please pass it on. Thanks so much, I can't wait.

2 Nights in San Francisco - Dinner Choices

Hi All, we will be in San Francisco for two nights in June. I have never been. In reading all the reviews I've narrowed it down to these restaurants: Gary Danko, Boulevard, Incanto, Oliveto (liked the menu over Chez Panisse) & Lalime. Please help me choose! We love great food but want a more quiet - - - but not stuffy atmosphere - views would be a plus! Thanks so much!
