If you wanted to have the best Sushi meal in your life near Washington or Baltimore, where would you go?

Meaning the most creative and the freshest and unusual. Is this possible?

Japanese Restaurants between Baltimore and Washington D.C.

Pabu. Is this where I should go for my birthday? Price is mostly no object. If you wanted to eat the most authentic and freshest seafood, would it be here or elsewhere?

Buffet Restaurants are not all bad, are they?

If you were forced to eat in a buffet type restaurant which one would it be? Most people would never admit that it would be about quantity. We would love to eat all the shrimp, lobster and prime rib that we could eat. Oysters and clams on the half shell?
OK, returning to reality. What are your favorite Buffet restaurants?

Peanut Oil in Local Grocery Stores - nearlly extinct?

Actually, much of the peanuts end up in China. At least for the last year. They think of peanut oil as we think of first cold pressed olive oil. Read the article in the Wall Street Journal from last week.Chinese markets are the best places to find peanut oil, I guess.

Good Food at West Lombard Street and South Charles Street: For Lunch

I will be in this area for the next year or so. Does anyone have recommendations for Lunch? Everything down here seems to be hidden inside a building. I guess, I'm asking which walk is worth walking and where would you go to eat a decent meal.Thank you.

Best Three Restaurants in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area.

We will be spending my birthday in the Hollywood area in middle November. My wife says that price is not relevant. How lucky I am. I would love to visit a place that could only be here. Usually, I enjoy BBQ, Fried Chicken,Crab Cakes and all the normal stuff that we all like. But for a special day?

New England Style Hot Dog Buns

Believe it or not, I am looking at a bag of Bunny Enriched Buns that I purchased from Harris Teeter in Columbia, Maryland. They are very old fashioned Wonder Bread in texture and have turned brown nicely on my BBQ grill on their sides after getting a slight wipe of butter. And yes, they are split on the top, proper for lobster or shrimp rolls (Maine shrimp, of course). And they are made by a company in Georgia. Flowers Bakeries, Thomasville, Georgia. www.flowersfoods.com

Frankfort and Traverse City, Michigan and all that

I'm a eastern (Maryland) USA person returning to one of the most beautiful places in the world. We will be there in late August. What now, are the best (hate to say "best") restaurants up there? What I tend to remember are great smoked fish and Kielbasa up on the peninsula. And all the wine.
So, where should we go on this trip?

Mothers Day in Towson, Northern Baltimore.

While I enjoy eating tripe, octopus, blood sausage and sushi, I want to find a interesting restaurant in northern and north-western Baltimore or the Towson area that my 85 year old mother- in- law would also enjoy. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Real Food:Frankfort to Leland Michigan: good local restaurants?

We will be staying in Frankfort, Michigan for a few days in early August. I have done my research and have found a few places that specialize in local ingredients. For example, Bluebird and Cove in Leland. Joe's Friendly Tavern in Empire sounded interesting, with the local fish. La Becasse in Burdickville? Yes, I also know about the vineyards and I love wine. Cherries are also, ok. But, mostly we are interested in eating good local food between swimming in what I have been told is a very cold Lake Michigan. Thanks, if anyone can help.( We might drive over to Traverse City. Anything worth the trip which is CHOWHOUND worthy?)

Cookeville, Tennessee

We will be visiting Cookeville, Tn in May. Yes, have heard of a great catfish restaurant down there. Lighthouse Restaurant at Boat Dock in Baxter? Do I actually have to catch a fish to eat? That's a joke.
I have noticed quite a number of restaurants in the Cookeville area. Which one (or two) would you take your wife or dearest friend out to for a special dinner?

Free Steak?

I don't really expect prime dry aged beef. Just was curious if this restaurant was still operating.

Free Steak?

I tend to remember reading about a restaurant in NJ where if you finish a very large steak, you get it for free. Is this still relevant? Thanks.

Bergen County, New Jersey

We will be up in the Hackensack area this weekend. I remember a great Diner on Essex north of downtown Hackensack. Great RI clams on the half shell and baked Virginia ham. My wife had shrimp cocktail and a Lobster dinner. It was quite cheap. And good!
I tend to remember reading about a relatively inexpensive restaurant serving dry aged beef located in northern New Jersey. Does anyone know what I am talking about?
If not, can you recommend any good American or Italian places in the Fort Lee to Paramus area? Gosh, one day and one place to eat. Thanks!

Best Pizza in DC Metro Area

You might not think about Laurel, Md. for good Pizza, but Pizza and Pasta Plus on Rt.1 and Route 198 uses a Wood Burning Oven and makes wonderful pie. A Italian owner and lots of fine Italian wine. Even as a Northern New Jersey person, I like it!

Dried Aged Steaks

We had a great time in Philadelphia last week. The Italian Market area in South Philly was wonderful. Cappuccio's Meats on 1019 S. 9th Street reminded me of a 1960's butcher shop.Beef and sausage and a pig in the front window and a whole veal hanging from the ceiling. Our Porterhouse was sliced on a very dangerous looking machine on our side of the counter. Everyone on Chowhound has to go to South Philly. Even a store with caged chickens, rabbits, pigeons and turkeys. You choose the victim and to the back he/she goes.
Actually, I was wondering where I could find some good dried aged beef around here (Maryland/Washington,DC).Other than Wagshalls and Whole Foods. Thanks.
