Rehearsal Dinner - Holliston MA

The Coach Grill is excellent and I wouldn't consider it a "blue hair" restaurant. They have a very busy bar scene and the dining room has a diversified group of people from families to "blue hairs". Also with an older, rustic feel is the Oregon Club in Ashland.

Boston Business Lunch?

I would recommend Davio's in Park Square. It's very convenient to the T and a short ride from the airport. The Public Garden with the Swanboats is just a couple of blocks away if he wants to take a stroll. The food is good and the service is very good but not intrusive.

Let’s make a list of obnoxiously loud restos

Not in Cambridge but Smith and Wollensky was the loudest place I ever dined. We could not hear each other at all. I went early on and have never gone back.

Lunch near Mt. Auburn Cemetary? Cambridge, Watertown area?

Greg's, a basic red sauce Italian restaurant, is rigght next to Mount Auburn Cemetery. They have a parking lot and though they serve a variety of customers, there are always seniors.. The staff is old school calling you "honey" but very nice. Most of them have been there forever.

BEST high end restaurant near(ish) suburb of Sherborn?

I would also highly recommend Maxwell's 148 for both food and service and Chiara in Westwood as a second option.

Law & Order at JM Curley

Love it and I like the menu too.

Subs / grinders @ Santoros

In the "old days" of the waterfront Santoro's was just about the only thing between the beginning of Northern Avenue after going over the old bridge until you got the Pier 4.

Any good cheap seafood in Natick area? On the idea of Zalek's or SeaWitch??

I have reservations about the Morse Tavern. I think it"s owned by the people who owned it previously as Nick's which I though was mediocre at best. Please post if you do go.
Where is Culinary Delights? I haven't heard of it. The price certainly sounds right.

Any good cheap seafood in Natick area? On the idea of Zalek's or SeaWitch??

I would highly recommend the early bird at The Dolphin.....not innovative but good fresh fish with many options.

Any good cheap seafood in Natick area? On the idea of Zalek's or SeaWitch??

I would definitely recommend the Earky Bird at the Dolphin.

restaurant with a private room in Metrowest?

Try the Aegean on Route 30 in Framingham right near the turnpike and Route 9. The food and service are good, prices reasonable and there is a large parking lot. I would think that they would accomodate you with a bufffet.

Dinner with a very old person

I didn't even think about Chiara but that is an excellent suggestion.

Looking for a restaurant with a very nice "relish tray" and good shrimp dip, too.

I agree on The Continental. Angelica's in Middleton is owned by the same people.

Sole Propietor, 111 Chop or Via

I would recommend 111 but Via is also good. I think the food and service at 111 are excellent not just good. I enjoy it as much as any of the Boston steak houses and I've been to them all. The extra perk is lower prices and free parking lot or $2.00 valet. In my opinion, you can't go wrong.

The Grillin Greek

They must have changed their policy. When they were first open I got delivery from them and there is no way I spent anywhere near $40.00. I don't even remember what I got but I wasn't impressed and was really disappointed since I had heard only good things about the place.

need advice on affordable New England wedding venues

Try Lake Pearl Luciano's in Wrentham if that location is at all convenient for anyone looking.
It is a beautiful location, good food and a very pleasant and professional staff.

Restaurant Week!

Places that I've had good RW meals in the past include Sorellina, Capital Grille, Davio's, Locke-Ober and Sibling Rivalry. Ones that have disappointed include The Fireplace, L'Espalier and Asana.

Hope you have a great meal wherever you go.

Weekend in Boston with The Mom...

Another vote for Hamersley's.

Looking to find a good place for lunch in Natick near MA Pike

The Aegean on Route 30 quite near the Pike. I know there are a lot of CH's who dislike the Aegean from reading a separate thread but I have always liked it and had both good food and service.

Vic's Waffle House, Tewksbury

Oh wow....chipped beef. I definitely have to get to The Owl Diner!

Vic's Waffle House, Tewksbury

My best friend lives in Tewksbury and I have been there many times. They have an extensive menu, the food is good and inexpensive and the waitresses are all terrific.....old school, as you said. They have wonderful fresh squeezed OJ and you can see them dropping the oranges in the machine as you have breakfast. There are waits on the weekend but there is a long covered hall with benches where you can wait and get coffee if you wish. I would highly recommend it.

May 2011 Openings and Closings

The second floor dining room at Legal Harborside is opening tonight.

Iggy's Croissants Rock

I totally agree with you on Quebrada's croissants.

April 2011 Openings and Closings

In Framingham on Route 135 where the KFC used to be a place with "home-style breakfasts" and homemade donuts is opening sometime in the next couple of weeks named Carrie Anne's. There is an article by Julia Spitz about it in todays Metro West News. I hope it's good. We could certainly use a good breakfast place in the Metro West area. Options are limited at the moment.

Anyone been to the re-opened Locke Ober?

I'm pretty sure that is the old menu on their website. The date at the bottom of the website says 2010.

Private cooking class- well known boston chefs?

They don't have private lessons but BU does have small hands on cooking classes with a variety of well known chefs. You can call them @ 617-353-9852 or email them @cularts@bu.edu for more information and a brochure.

Caesar Salad

Depending on where you live, this may not be convenient for you but the 111 Chophouse in Worcester has an excellent Caesar. I had one there a week ago. Like you, I hesitate to order them because I am all too often disappointed.

Capital Grille Restaurant Week

We went last year during RW and I had one of the best meals ever. They had lamb chops which are not on the menu this year and the were the best I have ever had. Everything was great including the service. We went early before it got crazy. They did so well that that kept RW going for an extra week although they didn't advertise that.

Mistral ; RW HOME RUN

All of the restaurant in the Columbus Hospitality Group seem to do an outstanding job during RW. I have had great experiences at L'Andana and Sorellina too. I am usually a chocolate dessert person but that panna cotta dessert is one of the best desserts I have ever had.

No. 9/L'Espalier/Capital Grille/Lumiere for Restaurant Week?

I think you will be very happy with Capital Grill. They have done an outstanding job in the past.
We were disappointed in L'Espalier for RW. I hope you have a better time.
