If you really want to get away from that CHAIN feeling, try looking up Sichuan Garden and Teji's on Yelp, Sichuan Garden can be compared to Asia Cafe on 183, amazing chili pepper flavors, Teji's is totally mom and pa, grocery isles right next to your tables, great flavors, may be a bit small for your family more than 4 people.

Same here, drove by on Sat (2-13) and they are CLOSED FOR BUSINESS, all dark inside. Why is their website still up? Very BIZARRE.

Yeah,I've always thought they are expansive, for a small tiny Kolache, try Kolaches from Donut Crown, just down the street on Burnet, right next to MckeeDee's and that tux place.

My wife and I ordered a pizza from Brooklyn Pie RR location last Friday nite, it was pretty horrible, I don't know what went wrong, we paid about 30 for a pie, it tasted worst than the school cafe pizza, please do not associate the word BROOKLYN with their pizza, or you'll end up greatly disappointed. Don't trust me? go get one and judge for yourself!

Kolache Shoppe...what happened?
I used to buy kolches from Kolche Shoppe on Burnet behind Dallas Nite Club, recently I bought a dozen of kolaches, I noticed they were soooooo tiny, around 2.5"x2.5", does anyone who buy their kolaches agree with me? I am all with the small local shops, but come on man, I don't recall they were THAT small. You can get a breakfast taquito for the same price.

I agree with yimay, GO WITH PAOs, they have better serving staff and more authentic Chinese food, if you don't care about the service then go with Din Ho.

Thanks a whole bunch, I did tried the FuFu Cafe, it was good, but they did not have shaobin & yu tiao together, only yu tiao, nor did they have salty onion soy bean soup, is Central China easy to find? I'll give Central China a try for sure next time I visit H-Town, Tell me, does LaiLai have the best dumplin and bao tze? Again, Thanks alot for your info.
