Mission to find the chef or recipes of Noodle 36, long closed

Noodle 36 used to be on 36th Street btw 8th and 9th. They had a plain rice noodle dish with the most amazing sauce I've ever had on noodles. A thick brown unctuous meaty sauce that clung to the noodles like it was in love. I think the dish may have been the cantonese/hong kong version of chee chong noodles, but I'm not sure.

I'd love to find out where the chef is working now, but also would be happy to play around with any recipes you all know of.

Whaddyasay?

I want to carbonate VODKA

(head-smack) Alcohol IS a chemical, isn't it? Any idea how faster this would degrade the seals, and whether leaching is enough of a concern to ditch this idea? I want a yummy drink but no tumors.

I want to carbonate VODKA

Just got a Soda Stream as a gift. I don't plan on getting tired of seltzer anytime soon, but would like to 'speriment with vodka. The company says so long as there are no chemicals in the liquid I choose to carbonate, it shouldn't mess with the valves. Anyone have any zperience or advice on getting a bubbly buzz?

Istanbul- 1 meal

Hamdi was on of my two favorite meals in Istanbul- It's close to the river, you can find a ton of reviews by searching google for 'hamdi restaurant' or variants... Best thing I had there was a kebap of lamb and chopped pistachios. It had great, layered flavor and was (good) greasy and very fulfilling. I miised out on the cig borek, raw lamb meatballs as they were out of them, but it was a memorable meal I'd love to duplicate.

Recent Beer Discoveries?

Rogue Brutal Bitter, really nice and clean. Strong bitter flavor, very much enhanced the rare roast beef sandwich I was eating.

Mamoun's Shawarma

Love that amazing Mamoun's shawarma, haven't had anything like it anywhere. I'm going there tonight. I don't know of anywhere that does it better. There's a place on Coney Island Avenue near Cortelyou Road that used to have really good shawarma, but it went way downhill a lnog time ago. I haven't been back in years, so I don't know if it's worthwhile anymore. Also I forget the name.
