Coolidge Corner Sushi

I've been to Fugakyu, Takeshima and Tsunami. Takeshima is old-school and not very exciting. Fugakya is really good but pricier/fancier than Tsunami. For everyday sushi, I like Tsunami's simple, homey decor and super fresh fish. For a night out or if someone else is paying or if you have large group and can reserve one of many private/screened rooms, Fugakyu is more fun.

QUARTER new bar in Brooklyn

I heard there is a new bar called Quarter (opened last week) in Brooklyn at 20th St and 5th Ave. Does anyone know if they serve food? Has anyone been there yet? I will be visiting friends in Park Slope but was hoping to expand my explorations beyond the Slope a bit this visit.

Midtown dinner for 8 including toddler

My husband, two-year-old daughter and I will be visiting NYC from Boston next week for a conference and want to take a group of (undergrad and graduate) students of ours out for dinner either Sunday or Monday evening. We are looking for a restaurant that has good food but won't bankrupt us, has at least some vegetarian options, and is in midtown so we can walk from our hotel (46th & Broadway). Most difficult is our toddler: We are hoping to find someplace within a block or two of toddler friendly browsing such as a big bookstore, etc., so that she can be taken off on forays if/when necessary while the rest of the party eats. Recommendations - including what non-restaurant toddler entertainment is nearby - would be greatly appreciated!
