What to order at Stanton Social?

i think 2 - 3 dishes per person is probably good. or maybe do 2 dishes per person plus sliders. my favorite sliders are the kobe burgers and the lobster rolls.

What's good in Murray Hill?

the upstairs at kalustyans on lex and 28th has excellent kebab, falafel, hummus etc pitas and platters.

maybe a little heavy for lunch but im a big fan of ali baba and ethos.

and wild greens is a good bet for chopped salads - on 29th or 30th and park. also guy and gallard cafe on park and 31st has a nice selection.

What to order at Stanton Social?

french onion soup dumplings and definitely the donuts!
a little less exciting but the edamame and french fries are both really good.
i like the red snapper tacos and sliders a lot and the watermelon salad is a nice refreshing summer dish.

some good eaters plus 1 not-so-good eater

have you eaten at scalinatella before? it's one of my dad's favorites and it sounds like he has similar taste as your dad.

Dinner near 12th and 6th

I agree with Crispo 100%! Great food, atmosphere, prices, etc. Dont think you can guarantee the outdoor area when you make a reservation but they'll try their best to accomodate you.

And im a huge Gotham fan if you're looking for something more upscale.

Also I like Sala 19 for tapas which is on 19th and 6th i think. And Markt for mussels / belgian food on 6th and 21st. One of my new favorites for greek food is Periyali on 20th between 5th and 6th. A really pretty restaurant with very good food and friendly service - all around a good experience.

Pizza Fridays Flatiron delivery suggestions

I live and work near where you are and agree there are no great options (at least as far as i know). Da Ciro which is on 33rd and lex has good pizza and they may deliver to you. Also other options i can think of are patsys and la pizza fresca, the second which i dont think delivers but is only 1 or 2 blocks away from you. There's a Totonno's nearby too and i have also ordered and had pretty good food from Pie by the Pound which is on 13th and 4th.

Mermaid Inn Alternative?

what about markt on 6th avenue. not exclusively seafood but have a ton of mussel dishes and probably 10 or so other seafood options on the menu. and definitely not stuffy. not sure about the full bar part but i know they have a very extensive beer list (it's a belgian restaurant)

Can Good Lunch Be Found Around 25th and 6th?

benevenuto on the corner of 23rd and broadway has a good selection of sandwiches, salads and other entrees. and lennys on 23rd is great for sandwiches and salads as well. for something a little nicer sapa on 24th and 6th is good. on 22nd between park and broadway there are beppe and tamarind which are both nice and very good food and for more casual italian i love the restaurant via emilia which is on 21st between park and broadway. le pain quotidien on 19th bt park and broadway is another one of my favorites. ive never tried it but people at my office like mozzarellis on 23rd for pizza and italian subs. it gets mixed reviews from people but i still like les halles on park and 28th. oh and there is also black pearl on 26th bt 6th and broadway which im not a huge fan of but may be good for some variety. one last idea - fleur de sel on 20th and bway has one of the best price fix lunches in the city.

Bday Dinner Tonight - Help!

Crispo is one thought, although it is italian so doesnt really fit the lo carbs. Has an outdoor area thought that would be perfect for what should be a beautiful night tonight.

Recently went to Indochine and really liked it, think it could be a fun place for a group

Help with choosing between these Rome restaurants

If you are looking for a good casual dinner place, my absolute favorite is a little restaurant in Trastevere called Hostaria del Moro (sometimes known as da Tony Hostaria del Moro). I used to eat there all the time when i spent a sememster in rome and recently organized a group dinner there for 20 people and it was great. and for $30 euros per person cannot beat the amount of food they served. We decided to do a pre set menu but ordering a la carte is great too. Just a suggestion for either a fun group dinner or a casual place to try one night. And trastevere is definitely a fun area to be in. A little crowded / loud but it really comes alive at night.

Mid 40's west side Italian or closer to Grand central east

Bond 45 fits what you are looking for in terms of location. It's not my favorite italian place in new york but the food and service are both good.

Blue Smoke / Bond 45 / 5 Points Restaurant

bond 45 is good food actually but restaurant itself is nothing special. big and has that mass produced sort of a feel. i would suggest roberto passon over bond 45 for a pre or post theatre meal.

Black Pearl any good?

went recently and didnt love it. lobster roll was only so so and the mussels were too fishy. also thought it was definitely overpriced for what it was.

unpretentious good eats in a garden type setting

crispo on 14th street is really good food and a good atmosphere. has a nice garden area in the back, although im not positive you can guarantee that when you make your reservation. worth a try though.

also i havent been in a long time but i remember the restaurant gnocco having a nice garden area. and food was good and not expensive. think it may be cash only.

What to order at Perry Street?

i really like the rice cracker crusted tuna appetizer. actually sometimes get a double order of it as an entree. also think the peeky toe crab salad is a good appetizer.

some people i was there with recently had the short ribs and the lamb and were very happy with both.

Which snacks to beat pre-dinner munchies/diet sabotage?

edamame is a good snack and also kashi TLC crackers are good and filling.

i am terrible at remembering to drink water but i have recently been using the crystal light on the go packets and they are great - without even thinking i end up drink 6-8 bottles of water a day.

Koi at Bryant Park

what did you think of your meal? it's not a standout new york restaurant but i still really like it. mainly because of the spicy tuna on crispy rice appetizer that is delicious.
