Otto in Coolidge Corner Open

Second everything! (concerned that Hops and Scotch looks like it hasn't made much progress)

Island Creek Oyster Bar-Mostly hits and one big miss (i.e. avoid the "Lobster Roll")

Island Creek Oyster Bar-Mostly hits and one big miss (i.e. avoid the "Lobster Roll")

We were there last night as well - with a great waitress. I order lobster rolls wherever we go and thought mine was very good...?! Maybe you got an off one...

Wegman's announces a Newton location

so glad i'm not the only one who feels that way about the star market. YUCK. so happy to have something new and improved...def worth a U turn!

Rosa Mexicano coming to Boston

Not sure if you've been to Rosa Mexicano in NY -- it is definitely not perfect but falls in the high end, pretty good category in NY. I don't think any of the places here come close to their level of food, service, atmosphere, etc and think it will be a welcomed addition. IMO it will give the neighboring places a run for their money.

Rosa Mexicano coming to Boston

GREAT news. Thanks so much for sharing!!

Fairway Market "clone" in BOS??

Although I love Russo's I agree it falls short on everything, including produce esp. because they barely carry anything organic.

Fairway Market "clone" in BOS??

doesn't exist. but good news is you don't have to deal with all the crazy people that go there :) (speaking as a NY'er who thinks Fairway brings out the worst in people!)

Highland Kitchen ????

If I were you I'd go to Highland Kitchen and send the "friends" somewhere else :)

Help us narrow down our Florence list!

Osler - Would love for you to report back when you return. We are going to Florence at the end of May w/our toddler and would so appreciate your feedback. Hope you had a wonderful time!

Where can I find kau yuk bao (like Momofuko pork buns)?

Thanks so much for the responses so far....I appreciate them. I called Bernard's in Chestnut Hill and they said they would make them if we called a day in advance.

Where can I find kau yuk bao (like Momofuko pork buns)?

Is there anywhere other than Chinatown (or NYC) to go for them?

Thanks!!

Mother's Day Brunch

Did Mother's Day brunch at Hammersly's - it was a joke. Ordered a Lobster salad - looked like 1/4 lb dropped on the plate from the counter at Whole Foods. Won't be doing that again.

The New Del Frisco's

The word from developers is that it will be a Grill. Of course nothing is definite till it opens but it seems like it would certainly make the post sense given the after work crowd that will be there.

The New Del Frisco's

Got confirmation that it will be a Wollensky's Grill...

VISITING BOSTON? One Hound’s Guide to Historic Areas and Restaurants

So generous and helpful of you. I always love to tell people about great lunch places when they're exploring new places but always feel like we never have time after talking about dinners. This is so great!

The New Del Frisco's

atleast s&w has wollenskys grill too...like that there is a more casual option for burgers, etc.

Bondir Reservation Issue

2nd attempt-Recipe for oyster rolls anyone?

UES Mayor will you devirginize your new stove with this recipe?

A little love for Lineage

We are in our 30's and there were actually plenty around our age there last night -- incl. some babies on the early side.

Carb loading pre-Boston Marathon and a place to celebrate post marathon

How about Giacomo's in the South End? One of my favorite pasta places and a short walk to your hotel.

A little love for Lineage

For some reason even though we have lived in Coolidge Corner for three years now we had only been to Lineage once. Anyway, we finally got back there last night and had a really nice meal sitting at the bar. We loved watching most everything come out of the wood fired oven. We enjoyed sharing lamb confit pizza, gnocci with artichokes and pan fried trout with almonds. The service was friendly, the food was great and we really enjoyed ourselves. Feel like it doesn't get much love/attention here (and from how packed it was last night it doesn't seem like it needs it) but wanted to share our experience. Also, for quasi fine dining it felt reasonably priced.

Dining out with a new baby

Agree with most of these rec's - my experience has been that restaurants are really happy to have family business and really want to be accommodating. I would add Mistral for brunch and Zaftigs anytime. Of course, Baker's Best in your neighborhood is very kid friendly too.

Need a good sub near Brookline hospitals

Not sure if they use Boars Head but when you want to change it up from Brookline Spa (also great) Seven Subs is really fantastic. It's a little hole in the wall in Coolidge Corner.

Bergamot - Nice Place, But not quite up to the level of Ravings I've Read

Unfortunately we've found most places pricing entrees at

Naked PIzza - coolidge corner

i agree. blech. trader joes frozen pizza for 1/2 the price was twice as delicious.

Bergamot - Nice Place, But not quite up to the level of Ravings I've Read

spectacular to us these days is consistent and delicious. somewhere you can keep going back to (and can afford to), where you feel welcome, with interesting and delicious menu offerings. i felt that way at bondir and bergamot. have not felt that way at lots of places in boston.

veggie burger at Hillstone?

imo it is THAT good!

early Sunday brunch for a party of 14 - must be child friendly!

A friend actually just told me she had a really great and kid friendly brunch at Lucky's across from the Children's Museum. I wasn't there so can't personally vouch, but she loved it.
