Cheese sauce separates
You never mentioned the amount of butter/flour you used for the 3 cups of milk. I think this may be the problem. you need at least 1/2 cup flour to 6 tb butter . Melt butter stir in flour and cook till blended and thick, then add your hot milk and cook till thickened. Let this cool somewhat, at least 15 minutes so that the heat doesn't breakdown the fat in the cheese too quickly. Hope this helps. tova
