Looking for a Nice Lunch Spot in Silverlake

This is a business lunch. I thought about Blair's but they're not open for lunch. Any other suggestions? Price not an issue and no specific cuisine in mind, just want a place where we can have a nice meal and conversation. Suggestions?

BBQ or Taco Caterer for Beach Party - Carlsbad/Oceanside

Wow - this is great info! Thank you. I'm afraid that I haven't checked back in a while and already booked the catering gig with La Tequiza. I was excited that they would come on site and make the tortillas, grill the chicken and carne asada. It's simple tacos, salsa, guacamole, and muiltas. Not expensive and just the sort of casualness I'm looking for. Your endorsement of Hunter Steakhouse sounds ideal too! I'll have to try it next time. I will report back as to how the La Tequiza gig goes for future reference. Thanks again!

I tried the Farmer's Cart organic delivery service

Tierra Miguel Farm looks incredible and exactly what I'm looking for: what they call community sustained agriculture, basically local grown and supported farms. And they deliver, however, not to Silverlake/Echo Park area - at least not yet! Thanks for the info - very useful.

I tried the Farmer's Cart organic delivery service

That's exactly what I'm searching for: Local grown organic produce delivery! Has anyone found anything worth while on that front? I'm actually more concerned about food miles than organic if I have to make the trade off. Therefore, I'd prefer locally grown foods to organic but ideally would love to have both. The local farmer's markets are great but not always convenient for my schedule. Thoughts, experience?

Patio Brunch for Baby Shower in/around Silver Lake

Thanks for the feedback. Problem with Edendale is that they only have Sunday brunch and this is for a Saturday. Good point about the patios - maybe we'll just have it at my own home. Thanks!

Patio Brunch for Baby Shower in/around Silver Lake

Thank you for your feedback. I'm not crazy about the food at Edendale, although I have never been there for breakfast or lunch. I love the environment though so, it may well be a good choice. I will also look into Cliff's Edge. I've heard some good things about it and the environment sounds great. Thank you!

BBQ or Taco Caterer for Beach Party - Carlsbad/Oceanside

Oh yeah, looks like Famous Dave's is a major chain - I didn't know that.

BBQ or Taco Caterer for Beach Party - Carlsbad/Oceanside

I have been to a Famous Dave's in Salt Lake City. Is that the same one? Interesting. Will look into these options too - maybe not Joey's BBQ though. Thanks.

Patio Brunch for Baby Shower in/around Silver Lake

I'm hosting a baby shower brunch for 7-12 women. I'd love to sit on a non-smoking patio with a pleansant environment and good food. Being able to make reservations is essential. In or around Silver Lake is ideal but not absolute (Echo Park, Los Feliz, Hancock Park, etc. )

Memorial Day Guacamole Throwdown

Yes, cilantro is essential! I like a bit of fresh jalapeno too. One easy secrete is to add a tblsp or 2 of your favorite hot fresh salsa.

A.O.C musts

The cavalo negro is a must - its essentially sauteed spanish greens with garlic but its hearty and worth it.

Also, I really enjoyed ordering 2 different half wine bottles that enabled the 2 of us to try two different wines, which was fun.

BBQ or Taco Caterer for Beach Party - Carlsbad/Oceanside

Hi- I'm hosting a birthday party for my husband on the beach in South Oceanside/ Carlsbad (North San Diego County). His favorites are BBQ (ribs, pulled pork, etc.) or Mexican (carne asada, carnitas, fish tacos, etc.) I would like for them to set-up and cook, not just deliver. I'm expecting 50-60 people. Does anyone have experience with great BBQ or taco caterers at a reasonable price ?

My total food budget (including service, tax, etc.) is about $1300. I did get a quote from Rick's Secret Spot in San Clemente, am currently getting one from Abbey's Real Texan BBQ. I looked into El Callejon and it looks like its even more expensive ($24/pp before service).
