Ryugin in Roppongi
Has anyone been since the introduction of the late-night a la carte menu? What are prices like? Are specialties like the Ayu(when in season) and -196 Apple/Pear available?
Alternatives to L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon
"l view it as he is using the best resources for his clients, kudos for him/her."
As opposed to, I don't know, first-hand experience?

So with slight modification (and seemingly their "go to" line), "Ask the French what is the best [restaurant for "X" occasion] and they will just shrug and say, “they all are different.” That’s true, but we are here to give you [Chowhound's] opinions! "

So you charge people money to post on Chowhound and get them recommendations? Sounds like a hell of a business. Where do I sign up?
La Table De Joel Robuchon Lunch?
As of April it was 55 or maybe 58 Euros for 3 courses, cheese, wine, water and coffee.
I believe the lunch set menu is avalable on weekdays only.
You can easily avoid meat (at least one entree was vegetarian, multiple fish options for mains).
A Week in Paris - help?
Tasting menu is 360 euos.
A la carte runs froum 45-70 euros for most appetizers/vegetable dishes, 100-150 eur for fish/meat. They are generally willing to serve split/half portions of any of the a la carte dishes. Creating your own tasting this way is a good option IMO.
Desserts are like 37 euros.
Jackets required at lunch?
I would generally agree, but after having lunch there mid-April, I'm not so sure. I did wear a jacket as I thought I would be out of place without one. However, other than a few Japanese tourists not many others were wearing them (and most seemed to be regulars/Passard's friends). They also offered to take it and check it at least twice. The restaurant is quite informal for one of it's caliber, and I'm not quite sure that such a rigid dress code as ***=jacket/tie is required in France.
I had a similar experience the next day at Gagnaire, where many blatantly non-Americans were without jacket. It's possible to dress appropriately and show respect for the restaurant without dressing to some codified American standard,
Daniel - spring menu? How many courses to order?
I THINK that it may be because your reservation is on a Friday. I remember seeing in the past that they would only serve the longer tasting during the week, I would guess to facilitate getting more turns in on the weekend.
4-star dinner for one?
Note that the full menu is not offered at the bar at Eleven Madison Park. At dinner they only serve a reduced and somewhat simplified bar menu.
Vadouvan - Searching for it
There's a recipe for it in the back of the Pierre Gagnaire book, 'Reinventing French Cuisine'.
Lunch for Graduation Celebration
Bouley serves lunch on the weekends. I think they have a 4 course and a 6 course menu as well as a la carte.
I believe that Cafe Boulud is open on Saturdays for lunch as well, but I'm not positive and it may be too far out of the way.
Dad is Coming to Town - Need a few Swanky Spots
If you're going to trek down to Tribeca go to Bouley instead of Chanterelle or Danube, especially since you mention the need for extreme service and decor. Overall I find the food there is just better than the other two and the room's very unique.
Wood Framed "Strainer" - what's it called!
Most likely you're talking about a tamis/drum sieve. Try JB Prince or Previn.
Bouley - should I go vegetarian?
Definitely don't go veg. The fish and shellfish dish's are the strongest on the menu, and some, like the cod/truffled dashi are up there with the best fish courses in the city.
What's the BEST you can do with $60?
You could eat quite well and try a ton of food at Momofuku Ssam Bar for 60 a head.
Bouley Dress Code?
While it might not be required, I think it would feel awkward to be in there without a jacket.

Eleven Madison Park Dinner Question
It's a choice of a 3- course prix fixe for like $85, a 4 course for about $95 or the long tasting menu for 150ish. A la carte is kind of available at the bar where there are 5 or 6 entrees available off of the bar menu, as well as all of the desserts.
Best pre-fixe lunch deal in Manhatten
Lunch is definitely in the formal room. I was gonna ask if anyone knew if it was available at the bar in the Nougatine Room as I'm going to be in town by myself and would still like to go.
Also wondering if anyone knows if there are bar areas that serve the full tasting menu at -

Thanks.

Hi all,
I am having trouble finding a source for these brands, and was wondering if anyone knew of a place that sold them.
Thanks.
