Anything new in DC? Nothing too crazy as far as cuisine goes. My wife is pretty picky. We like Central, BLT, J&G, Bourbon, Charlie Palmer, etc. Hoping for something new american with a nice atmosphere. I have a reservation at Blue Duck, but it may be a little tough for her. thanks!

We got a pizza to go from there and it wasnt bad. The lady gave my wife some spiel about the way they cut the pizza. So its not really all messed up, rather how they intend to do it. Something about how that makes it more authentic "new haven" style.

thanks, we actually had been to maxs several time, but ended up there again. its consistently good and mizner park is a good place for the kids. we also went to JBs on the beach. Food was decent and again, good place for the kids.

Price and style of food are wide open. Anywhere in Boca or surrounding areas. It would be for dinner.

Sorry, i didnt mean "party". It would be 8 adults and 2 kids. Pretty open to price ranges and cuisine. Just nothing to fancy were a 2 1/2 year old would be out of place. we are coming from out of town but are pretty familiar with the area.

We ended up at Teds Bulletin. I realize its not upscale casual, but I appreciate all of the recs. It happened to be great! Good service, good food, fun desserts and a nice ambience. Would definitely go back.

Thanks, Central is a go to spot for us, not that you would know that, so I was really hoping for something new and different.

Mattisse doesnt get much love on this board, but its on Wisconsion Ave right in DC and it is very good. its only a few miles from bethesda. The food is always consistent and it has a nice atmosphere. There arenty many "fine dining" places in Bethesda unfortuntely. Other than that the other recomendations are good options as well.

Not many choices for "upscale" in Bethesda. Blacks, Persimmon Redwood, and Grapeseed are all very good though.

I had it the other night, but it was carryout, so thats not really a fair test. but it wasnt bad. my wife loves that style pizza and she enjoyed it as well. they put a lot of oil on after the pie is cooked so it was kind of wet and soggy, again, it probably would have been better not carry out. we will definitely try it again though.

id wait for a some other opinions before writing off minibar. i think the food buster is in the minority. i thoroughly enjoyed my mean at minibar; food, service and 'coolness'

2 amys is very close to the zoo.

I had the chicken sandwich the other day and it was very good. i would go back again.

blacks and persimmon are very good but more on the fine dining side of things.

Nobody goes there anymore anyway, its too crowded

In DC you have all of the neopolitan type pizza places, 2 amys and Paradiso at the top of the list then others like mias in Bethesda

redwood had them as a special on saturday night and they were very good

the lamb chops looked great on the menu i saw a few months back, but it looks like they changed them and it didnt appeal to me as much

how is it? i am considering going there for a night out with the wife. we like bLT, CP and Bourbon Steak. I havent seen much on this board about it. any thoughts???

are you sure its still open? i live near there and have never seen it look open, let alone crowded.
