I apologize for my vagueness. The budget for the evening is $200.00 give or take.. American food preferable(ie: steak, chicken etc) Italian will work as well. My sister and her husband will have a drink or two. My wife is not a drinker at all and since I will be driving I will avoid alcohol for the evening. Pasadena area would be nice. Long beach will work as well.

Need help my fellow chowhounds. I have my sister's wedding anniversary coming up pretty quick and my wife and I are suppose to take my sister and her husband out to dinner for their anniversary. My problem is that I need to find a "nice" restaruant at a affordable price. Location doesn't matter...food does. Looking for a quality restaurant that has good food-nice atmosphere that is VERY affordable.(this economy is killing me!) Thank you for your help and suggestions....
Restaurants at the Grove-Fairfax
Has any one eaten at the Grove lately? The last reviews I read online was that the restaurants at the Grove where mediocre at best. I am taking my teenage son to the movies there this weekend and I will like to take him out to a nice meal afterwards.

Restaurant with the best prix fix menu
One of my co workers went to the Porter House Bistro in Beverly Hills this last Saturday and ordered off their Prix Fix Menu. He was very disappointed. The rib eye steak he and his wife ordered was just "ok". He also told me the sides where not very tasty and small portions to top it off. I just wondering if some one can please give me a recommendation on a restaurant that has a prix fix menu that won't break the bank and that is worth the drive.

Dining in the Pomona area?????
I was asking about the Pomona Valley Minging Company on a previous post and got mixed reviews.(actually they where mostly negative) I am meeting some friends from the Palm Springs area and am desperately trying to find a decent restaurant in the Pomona/Upland Area. It is a "special occasion" dinner and I am looking for a restaurant that will fit the bill.

Fosselman's Banana Malt
Soda Jerks on Fairoaks which closed down a while back use to serve Fossilmans ice cream. They use to have a sundae on there menu that was made up of: White Chocolate Chip with hot fudge & Chocolate Rasberry with Rasberry Sauce. Hands down the best sundae I ever had. Every time I go to Fossilmans I have them make that sundae for me. Try it. I GUARENTEE you will LIKE IT!

I have driven by this restaurant 1000 times but have never tried it. It looks like the views from the restaurant are nice...how's the food though? Give me some feed back my fellow Hound Dogs.........

Just out of curosity has any tried this Restaurant. I know that it has been around along time which is usually a pretty good sign. I am looking especially some for some feed back on their pizza.
Zankou type places
Dino Burgers on Pico Blvd has great chicken. It is the epitome of a hole in the wall. I think a half of chicken with fries and coleslaw will cost you $6.00. A Burger joint where every one orders chicken...go figure.

La Huasteca Pasadena closed.
The original restaurant is located in Lynwood of the 105 and Long Beach Blvd. It is located in the Plaza De Mexico.
Do they have Mariachi's at the Gardens of Taxco
I am trying to find a mexican restaurant with Mariachi's but that also has good food. I have heard pretty good things about the food at the Gardens of Taxco. Just wondering if they have Mariachi's their as well.
A night on the town in Alhambra...
Yama's is a good Japanese restaurant on Main st a few blocks east of Atlantic. I have to 2nd Fossilman's. Great ice cream.(get the two scoop sundae-white chocolate chip & chocolate rasberry ice cream. Hot fudge on the white chocolate chip and rasberry sauce on the chocolate rasberry. It will blow you taste buds away!)
Raffaello' Ristorante-San Pedro, how's the food& decor
Some one recommended to my sister to have her baby shower there. I have never been there. Need some feed back please and/or if anybody might have any other suggestions for a restaurant in the south bay(Long Beach to San Pedro) with a banquet room with good food and that can accomodate 120 people.

Chinese Bakery in the San Fernando Valley?
Their is Van's Bakery on Valley just east of San Gabriel blvd. I think the Bakery opened with in the last year. Cakes, boba, deli. My wife and I bought a couple slices of the different cakes they offer at their counter and they where really good.
Can some recommend a "special occasion restaurant in Santa Monica that is not to trendy & has good food.

Dining under the stars
Can some one please give me a good reccomendation on an open air restaurant with good food. Any type of cusine will do. I have been to Twin Palms before. Great atmosphere but average food. Any where in L.A. county. Don't mind driving if the food and experience is worth it!

Can some one please give me some feed back on the quality of the food and service at Dolce. The restaurant it self looks super trendy. When that is the case the food it self usually seems to suffer.
