New Idea - Cool Venue in North Park for a 12 person party -

Any art galleries around? My sister in law got married in Laguna at one of the art galleries and brought in their own food n drinks.. it was more like a cocktail party with servers passing food/small bites around.

Dinner post cocktails at Noble Experiement

I think cocktails there first then a whatever dinner is best. Or an afternoon snack, then cocktails, then late dinner. Jsix, Cafe Chloe are walking distance. I would NOT go there on an empty stomach because 2 -3 cocktails there and night is over ;). love love that place. I've been there after dinner and found that i was too full/tired to really enjoy the cocktail experience…if that makes sense

This is from a girls' POV. Best time we had there and balance of buzz and fun was to have an afternoon snack around 5, then Noble at 7 for drinks, then walk to dinner…ahhhh BLISS. I love the Gin Rickey (very refreshing) and the Gold Rush (bourbon, honey and lemon..salivating thinking about it)

4 reasons SD's food scene is on fire right now

I ate at Red O in Newport recently, ate at Topolo in Chicago 2 years ago. Red O was good but not spectacular and quite $$$. Margarita was very good, ceviche was ok. Red O is great decor, service etc and perfect for the "classic" Newport clientele.

Week in Escondido/San Diego

Just curious, have you been to HdV?? They've even set up a jumpy in the grass area. I think it is to encourage parents to hang out longer. Plus the grassy area there is quite separated from the dining area. Same goes for Stone Brewery, it is another magical place where children can enjoy the premises.
At Blue Ribbon it is a different story since there are patrons for many other establishments. And frankly those are children likely waiting for a table at the ever crowded BR. I do agree that children should be well behaved in restaurants, sit on their butt and eat their food. No way in hell should they be allowed to free range inside a restaurant or patio.

I am not suggesting that one brings their kids to Addison and let them roam on the golf course ;)

One of the few places where you can get a great margarita, good salsa and watch the kids run around and play in the grass. It is relaxing and the service is good (been going for 12 years). Is it the best Mex in town..hell no! but it sure makes for a nice afternoon outside.

Giant Lima Beans

Not that I know of. I order from them directly as well. The Royal Coronas are stunners but for flavor I love the Scarlet Runners and the Ayocote Morado even more.

sedona v flagstaff

Ok my BFFFF Beachchick, you never steer me wrong! Thanks for the Wilma's suggestion in PS, now we are off to Sedona in July. Should I just stay at Arabella and not research any other hotels. If there is a great restaurant on site then I am just peachy. Smooches

Blue Ribbon Pizzeria

Our favorite pizza ever! Have to get 2 of the staff favorite because the kids love it so much. Also the Little Gems Caesar with the breadcrumbs is delicious too. Happy Hour is a fantastic deal if you can get there early enough.

Nobody suggested the Neighborhood?? A burger and an awesome cocktail. I've been to Ruth's Chris for dinner wearing flip flops and sand on my feet. I love not having the OC/LA vibe here.

Palm Desert/Rancho Mirage

Adored Wilma and Frieda's today. Had the short rib Benedict, the meatloaf n eggs, cheeseburger and the 5 cheese Mac n cheese. Everything was wonderful !!!!
Friday night we had a lovely dinner at Wally's Desert Turtle. Husband had their foie gras and pork tenderloin, I had the French onion soup and the liver and ad onions, kids had the Caesar salad and the Vongole. Dessert was the Grand Marnier soufflé, chocolate lava cake and a complimentary dessert for my son's birthday.

Palm Desert/Rancho Mirage

We will be staying at the Marriott Shadowridge this weekend and I am looking for a dinner spot for Saturday night. We are going to Wally's on Friday, so nothing too $$$ on Saturday. Flexible to cuisine, just not Mexican (live in San Diego and we have many fabulous restaurants). There will be 8 of us including 2 food adventurous children. I def want to squeeze in breakfast at Wally and Frieda's at some point :).

Giant Lima Beans

Yes so I ordered 10 bags to justify the price difference with Seaside where they are $6.99 /lb:) but then I saved on gas too. This is my second big order from them and very happy. The beans are in the slow cooker today after an overnight soak. A $5.95 bag makes quite a substantial side dish or even a meal if you want to add other things to it. I love the Scarlet Runners and Ayocote Morados, they cook up big and meaty too.
