Portland - Best Cocktails (Lounge or Bar)
excellent. love me some sweet Belgian beers. looks like victory is the choice spot. I'll have to remember Beaker... next time in Portland. I'm in Seattle so Portland is a fun weekend trip for me. thanks!
Portland - Best Cocktails (Lounge or Bar)
now what about a place with a lounge, cozy feel, good music, and beer selection?
Portland - Best Cocktails (Lounge or Bar)
cute, victory bar looks to be my kind of place. thanks for the post!
Portland - Best Cocktails (Lounge or Bar)
I’m not looking for anything too upscale just a nice bar with fresh ingredients in their cocktails and a decent beer or wine selection too. Drinks can be unusual but known for being tasty.
Thanks for the input!

looking for a gourmet dining experience
hi, i will be visiting my old stomping ground in march. much has changed in austin, i know. with that said i'm looking for a top notch dining experience. something underground maybe or just incredible food with one seating a night, no menu sort of thing. something with a great atmosphere and worth my money.
i live in seattle. for examples of what i'm looking for i inlcuded links to restaurants in seattle that i love.

visiting SF for the first time -
i'm looking for 3 great brunch/lunch places and 3 dinners. ideally i would like to eat at a fantastic/lots of options dim sum place and maybe one fancier dinner. the rest would ideally be on the cheap side (less than $12 a person). if you have been to SF and have a couple of must visit places, please let me know. i'm staying in the mission district but am willing to travel as far as oakland if totally necessary. thanks for your tips!
oh and types of food i like:
mexican
spanish
french
cafe type foods (sandwiches salads)
food trucks
vietnamese
chinese

Where to go for Christmas dinner in Seattle?
Last year my boyfriend and I went to Cascadia and it was lovely. We sat at a table right next to the fireplace and the food was quite excellent. However, we are looking for something new this year. We have looked into the Georgian (Fairmont Olympic) and it's a bit pricier than we would like to spend (something close to $300 for two).
Any suggestions?
Birthday dinner in SEA?
I dont know if it's too late to suggest Black Bottle in Belltown. Good wine selection, great small plates. Very well versed in serving large groups. I went with a group of 25 and the service was amazing!
Absolute best burger in Texas?
Chris Madrid's for sure - S. Antonion TX
Wallbangers - Corpus Christi, TX
Breakfast Tacos and Migas in Austin

Dining for Austin Outsiders
Yes, El Chile. That would be the place. I had a fantastic mango margarita w/ a salt, lime, chili rim. delicious!
Searching for the Seattle equivalent of L.A.'s Mexican food...
Okay, I am from Texas and definitely know what good Tex-Mex is and I dont really know anything about LA mexican food but I imagine you would like places like this:
Malenas on the top of Queen Anne Hill
The Taco Bus on Rainier Ave S (past Chubby Tubby's)
The Taco Truck at Northgate (exit towards Target and then turn left into the gas station parking lot, so worth the drive, their salsa is the shit)
Seafood in Seattle??
I would have to mention that the Brooklyn restaurant downtown on 2nd and University is my favorite for oysters. at about $2 a piece the price is indeed a little steep but seriously delicious and they have such a variety to choose from.
Looking for great sushi in downtown Seattle
I really enjoy Nijo's downtown on Spring and Western. After 10pm there are sushi and drink specials! The staff is really friendly.
Dining for Austin Outsiders
I am such a fan of the Salt Lick. Anytime I can take people there, I do it!
Also, on the Eastside there is a great little Mexican cafe I went to when I was visiting for SXSW in March. The name escapes me but I do believe it's right before Mi Madre's when heading East on Manor Rd.
