Restaurants in Flagstaff

I may have seen this too late for your trip, but last time I was there we ate at a BBQ place called Bigfoot BBQ. It was really good. Very strange as it in the basement level of a building and in the back of a clothing store. It's an order at the counter place, but the ribs were fantastic.

Here's the information:

Fine dining lunch in LV with a toddler?

Okay, I know these two don't usually go together, but we will be in LV next week and would love to have one really nice lunch. Our daughter is 17 months and is a pro at eating out. Are there any really good places that are somewhat kid friendly? I figured that lunch time might be better than trying to go at dinner. We are open to any cuisine and $ amount.

Boba (Black Tapioca Pearls) Tea

I can't really answer for NE Phoenix, but if you're ever in the West Valley, I would try Lee Lee's grocery store (at the corner of 75th Ave. & Cactus. It is huge and carries food from just about every Asian country (and other continents as well). Each aisle offers food from a specific country. I could spend hours in that place. The selection is overwhelming.

It looks like there is another location in Chandler too, which is probably much closer for you.

Good eats near the Hilton Chicago?

My husband will be in Chicago tomorrow night and will be taking a colleague (who is also not from the area) out to dinner. My husband is an adventurous eater and up for anything. I would say he'd be looking to spend around $60 per person. We know Chicago is full of great eats, so what would you recommend?

Porketta in PHX?

Here is the place in Hibbing where we usually buy Porketta when we're up there. However, you can find them other places. Fraboni's is probably best known for them. They also give a brief description. It seems to be similar to the Italian Porchetta, but doesn't seem to be exactly the same. There were so many cultures represented up on the iron range that it's hard to know where it came from.

Porketta in PHX?

I am very familiar with VonHanson's but didn't realize they had them here. I will have to check with them. If you go up to Hibbing, you can find them in pretty much any grocery store. My mom lives in a northern suburb of the twin cities and could also get them at her local grocery store until just recently. It is definitely an iron range dish. I've always had it shredded and on sandwiches, not done with potatoes and carrots like a roast. You can find it at the church festivals up there along with sarmas (cabbage rolls made from "sour heads" which is when the pickle the entire cabbage). I don't think you were far enough north in Duluth for it.

Porketta in PHX?

Sounds like it could be similar. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the info!

Porketta in PHX?

This is a seasoned pork roast that is common in northern MN, but can be found in a few locations in Minneapolis. I've found recipes on-line that tell you how to season it yourself, which I have tried, but it never turns out as good as the pre-seasoned ones from the iron range. My husband had it for the first time this past summer while visiting family up there and is dying to have another one. I was hoping with all the MN snow birds down here, that there might be a butcher that sells them. Anyone heard of this?

Review: Blu Burger Grille, N. Scottsdale

I thought it was just mediocre when I tried it a few months back.

Dog Friendly Dining - Phx

Thanks for responding. I figured that it might be a health code issue too, but thought I would ask anyway.

Dog Friendly Dining - Phx

So my cousin that is passing through town on her cross-country move now has her dog in tow. We have a huge dog that we take out a lot with us during the cooler months to places with outdoor patios. Being that it is now summer, she can't leave the dog in the car, but it is also too hot for the patio during the day. So, does anyone know of a restaurant that would allow a small dog inside? I see those women in Scottsdale in shopping malls, etc. with their little dogs. Since, I'm not really a part of the little dog phenomenon, I don't have a clue how they get away with it. I know this is a weird question, but does such a restaurant exist here?

Good food off of I-10 in Phx

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I know having to be close to the freeway really limits things. That's why I was having so much trouble thinking of anything. I have been to Ranch Market many times and didn't even think of it. I know there are some good places downtown too, but I think that many of them are closed on Sundays. I will look into the places you listed or just make her drive a bit farther.

Good food off of I-10 in Phx

I have a cousin that will be passing through Phoenix on a Sunday afternoon and we will be meeting for an early dinner. I'm trying to think of a place that is not far off of the freeway for her as she is not familiar with the city. We will be eating a late lunch/early dinner. I'm looking for something good and moderately priced. I like just about everything, so I'm up for any type of cuisine. We eat out all the time, but I just can't think of anything off hand.

Where to find a Midwest Pork Tenderloin Sandwich - Phx Metro

There is also a place on Bell, not too far East of I-17 that always advertises Tenderloin sandwiches on the outside of the place. Unfortunately, I have no idea what it's called and couldn't tell you if it's any good or not.

Maui Wowi / Mr. Greek (PHX)

There is a Maui Wowi near my home in Glendale too. They have coffee and smoothies, but leave much to be desired. I haven't had the coffee, but tried a smoothie once. Just some crap made from concentrate.

Thanks for your suggestions. I actually have been to Padre Murphy's, but forgot all about it. I will have to check out Max's as well.

Happy Hour in W. Valley of Phoenix

I'm looking for a fun place for happy hour on the west side. Something with some good food/drink specials. I seem to only be able to find info on the East Valley. We would probably prefer something a little low key (dives are okay) over one of the "be seen here" types of places.

Any suggestions?
