Hello Portland. My wife and I are driving from Sonoma to Portland in August. We plan on taking the coastal route north to the Willamette Valley and ending up in Portland. I would like to hear people's opinion on spending time sampling oysters on the coast or simply waiting until we got to Portalnd and finding an oyster bar there and sampling what they have. Also, we'd like to try two or three of the better "fine dining" restaurants in the Portland if anyone would care to share their opinions on that.

This may prove to be easier than it sounds but I am looking for a nice place to have dinner in Lodi. We ate at Wine and Roses the last time we stayed over in Zin land and I would like to try another place if there is something else on par. We know that Lodi has been working hard at building up its dining options to complement its' growing wine industry so if a place is unproven but may have potential we would be open to something like that. Please help a poor San Franciscan relocating to SD. What are the top ten restaurants in the immediate San Diego area regardless of price, etc? I feel lost with Gary Bauer et al.
