Suggestions for a korean testaurant to try for first timers

My favourite place on the Koreatown strip is Tofu Village - House of Soon Tofu. You can get soon tofu with chicken or seafood. It comes with rice in a clay bowl and a raw egg to drop into your sizzling dish! The side dishes are better quality than on the rest of the strip, too.

Any leads? I didn't see any at T&T downtown or at heisei. I'm at a loss as to where else to look.

Mozzarella, ricotta and other fresh cheeses

Does anyone know of a great source for fresh cheeses (mozzarella, burrata, ricotta, fromage frais, etc) in Toronto? I'm looking for a farm or store that makes it in-house and sells it fresh the same day.

Chocolate to go

If you want to go for baked goods rather than truffles, pusateri's carries a wonderful array of pastries from bakeries all over toronto. You would have a lot of selection there, and everything I have bought from there has been very fresh.

Butcher in st-lawrence market?

Thanks everyone! I will definitely check out Whitehouse meats.

Chocolate to go

I second soma. Not only are their truffles, house-made chocolate bars and hot chocolate mix wonderful, but they have great cookies too. Another great option is senses; there is a location on yonge and also one in the soho metropolitan hotel.

Herb desserts

The following look interesting as sweet applications for sage, all from Epicurious:
Almond Blancmange with Caramel Glaze and sage sherbet
Pumpkin Cake with sage ice cream and pumpkin-cherry compote
Apricot, cornmeal and sage cookies

I try :) Here's another, seasonal offering: strawberry-rhubarb shortcakes with strawberry-lavender sorbet, from Fresh in NYC.

Butcher in st-lawrence market?

I am a devotee of Cumbrae's for meat, but I just moved near the st-lawrence market. Can anyone recommend the best butcher there?

Where can I find culinary lavender in Toronto?

Nope, they are in the herb section, meant to be used culinarily.

their website says they have it -- thanks!

Where can I find culinary lavender in Toronto?

Also, Whole Foods usually has it in the fresh herbs section.

New bakeries Adelaide/King East?

I tried it on their first day open. I enjoyed the homemade banana muffin, but not the croissant. The coffee was mediocre. The service was very sweet though, and the owner seemed very excited because I was (I think) her first customer. A good breakfast option for fellow spire residents.

Where can I find culinary lavender in Toronto?

The flower market at the Queens Quay Loblaws has both regular and English lavender, as should most plant markets that carry herbs.
