Revising this after a mind blowing meal 8/2009 in Nice, Cote D'azure France: La Zucca Magica. 5 course prix-fixe w/wine.Pumpkin lasagne melted my face! A meal at Bouley in NYC in 2007 is a close second. For street food: L'as du Falafal in Le Marais, Paris has the best falafal in the world. Isa in San Francisco, best swordfish I've ever had.
My current drink of choice:
Kir Royales, St. Germain cocktails, dark coffees, red zins, whiskey straight, San Pelligrino by the case.
I really wish I could:
afford to eat well at every meal, every day.
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
Caprese salad. Easy, tasty.
My favorite comfort food:
Hmm...Toast with extra butter. Croissants and Perrier for breakfast. Olives. Mashed Potatoes. Tomato Soup. Tikka Masala. Rice. Dark chocolate. Vanilla Bean anything.
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
In Austin, for "fine dining"? Uchi, Jezebel. Mid-range: Justine's, Asti. Cheap: any of the decent thai & taco joints around town
