Sesame Cafe is now serving Dim Sum

Yes, but to clear up the confusion they are the folks from the Wanderer's before it was sold a year ago. They are not the owners of the Wanderer's which just closed last month.

Edit: No, I didn't even look at the normal menu.

Sesame Cafe is now serving Dim Sum

Wanderer's Garden is closed but Sesame Cafe http://www.sesamecafeminnetonka.com/ has just started serving Dim Sum. It's a nice, open restaurant, and they do reservations. The Dim Sum there is no worse nor better than the Wanderer's from a year ago.

Less than 24hrs to spend in the Twin Cities

I would, but if I had just one day I'd pick a place where I can get a reservation. But Rookery is good too, and frankly the food is just as good, just fewer components on the plate.

Good Sushi in the Twin Cities

Yes it is. But the stuff they use here, that sako block carbon monoxide flushed tuna... no no no. It's just bad.

Good Sushi in the Twin Cities

All the Tuna is frozen. The Salmon comes in on ice. The "Snapper" is Tilapia. Nobody in Minneapolis knows how to make the rice. All the soy sauce is generic off the shelf. Nobody pickles their ginger.

Sushi here sucks. I know what you mean, I'm from the Valley in CA. Even 20+ years ago was light years ahead of Minneapolis.

Salt and Vinegar Fries

Go to McDonald's and ask for your fries without salt. Then do your own salt and vinegar.

Public Kitchen + Bar in Lowertown

Some places use special ice made from special water. They make it in special extra large ice cube trays.

It might sound to you like I'm joking but ice wear I'm not.

Fun dining with kids

I like Sparks. The kids have a choice of $5 pizza or $5 pasta.

What a bummer. Menu looks good, a basic safe bet, and at those prices they need to execute properly.

Where does the stabilizing gum go after you make butter from gum stabilized cream?

Not even a guess? Anyone?

First of all I don't recommend it unless you can stand to watch stabilized cream try and break. What I want to know is what happens to, say, the carrageenan. Does it end up in the butter, the whey, or the air? Just wondering.

Southern Vegetarian Indian?

Have you tried the refrigerated dosa mix from the various Indian grocers?

Southern Vegetarian Indian?

Actually, I meant Udupi which was what it was named before it got sold and became Nalapak. Udupi was under 10 bucks and it was way better than Nalapak. But it doesn't matter anyway they're both gone.

Don't hold your breath for good dosa here. Bawarchi is the best. Dosa King was good when it first opened, as was Nalapak, and India Cafe about eight years ago. India Cafe has changed hands at least twice and the last time I went I ordered rava dosa and they put some cilantro and onions in a regular dosa and tried to pass it off as rava dosa.

Bawarchi has the best South Indian in town. In fact I think it has the best Indian food in town.

Many kinds of Dosa, your option of having a Dosa crispy or spongy. Three different chutneys and sambar to go with that.

Big Bowl Rest./@Galleria Edina: WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!

Well, yeah, I guess.

Big Bowl, adopting the beloved McModel, has effectively disempowered each and every employee while holding them accountable for three cents in food cost.

Actually he is special. In my hiring days I would look for people who cared about people, not so much the food, that was the easy part. If you really cared about people you wouldn't send out a bad plate.
