Please critique my list of restaurants

Last night we were at Da Enzo and thought what a great place for a large group. The owner was so pleasant to all our guests and the food was so delicious!! I would speak to him when you make the reservation letting him know you will want the table for several hours.

Del Posto or Esca?

I say Esca. I find Del Posto is too ambitious. Esca has the finest ingredients prepared very well.

Cocktails (after 4 hour exam) & before dinner at Marseille?

Bryant Park behind the library is fun and relaxed if the weather is nice . Pentop is quite the scene during the week, not so sure about the weekends-not very relaxing but beautiful.

PLEASE HELP! Looking for most romantic NYC restaurant...

The outdoor seating at L'Imperio cannot be beat. The indoor seating is also beautiful. They just had a kitchen change and the food is just as fabulous as it always was. Maybe stop by and make the reservation so you can choose between the indoor or outdoor.

Romantic NYC Restaurant?

Loved L'Imperio in Tudor City. Weather permitting, the outdoor seating is divine. Let us know what you decide and how it was!!

Chicken Scarpiello on Long Island

If you are a huge chicken scarpiello fan and ever eating in the Bronx, you should try Dominic's on Arthur Ave. We travel over an hour to get there and it is worth it everytime.

Very Constrained Diet visiting Union Square

How about Zen Palate on Park Ave South (either 15th or 16th St.). They are so nice about special orders and needs.

Johnnies in Rye??

Thanks for the warnings!!!

Mother's Day Brunch near Rye Brook

How about Fish in Portchester. Good food and kid friendly. It is on the water so it's a plus if the weather is nice.

Johnnies in Rye??

Message
Does anyone know about a place called Johnnies( or something like) that in Rye? I can't find any listings or reviews.
Good/Bad?

Berkshire/Heirloom pork in Weschester?

Check with The Flying Pig in Mt. Kisco. They have moved to a larger resturant space so I'm not sure if they are doing their retail products any longer.

Yummy Home Style Breakfast -Where???

Check out Gail's Station House in Ridgefield, Ct.

Brown Rice Vermicelli

I know Whole Foods has a great selection of brown rice pasta shapes, so I assume they would have vermicelli.

Kids Birthday Cake

Lexington Square Cafe makes beautiful cakes, more decorative than theme. Also like Pastry Corner for the themed cakes.

Large table in Westchester or near by Conn. [moved from Manhattan board]

L'Europe in South Salem could be a nice choice. They have really done some nice improvements to the menu over the years and they could not be nicer. South Salem may sound really far away but it is not that far from Bedford area.

Best Pasta in Manhattan?

I love L'Impero. So fabulous, start to finish. They have beautiful outdoor seating, but then you miss the really nice room.

IL Mulino or Del Posto

I think Il Mulino over than Del Posto for parents and grandparents. I think they will enjoy the small beautiful space. They do both get some bad press here and there but they are really wonderful. I do think Del Posto can get a bit too adventurous. I find Da Umberto to be much more consistant but a little more low key.
Let us know how it goes.

First time to ny city, what is a must do splurge restaurant.

A great place to stop in for a drink and a REALLY nice bite is Prune. It is a tiny place so you can have a nice drink and an app. at the bar.
Love both Babbo and Mesa Grill, though they are totally different. Mesa you can get a res. without too much difficulty or sometimes just walk in, where as Babbo it is about a month.
Enjoy!!!

Urgent Request for Tonight from DC Hound. Anything good near Lafayette and Canal?

Indochine!! It has been there FOREVER. Everyone always loves it, especially those from out of NY. It is on Lafayette across from Public Theater. If you have to wait for a table, the lounge area is really nice.

Rosa Mexicano-Union Square Review

Fully agree that the new location is far below the originals!! Do give the 2 other locations a try. Eastside-neighborhoody, traditional atmosphere. Lincoln Center- pretty room, trendy atmoshere, fun. Both are really good!!

57th St & 6th Ave - Casual to "midscale" dinner recs please

Milos on 55th st. beetween 6-7th ave. is wonderful. You may not be able to book a table but you can eat at the bar. The room is really beautiful and relaxed. It can be a bit costly, depending on your orders, but I feel it's worth every cent.

I couldn't get into Babbo - now what?

If you are feeling adventurous, why not try eating at the bar at Babbo. If you get there a little before they open you can usually get a spot. They serve the complete menu and the bartenders are really engaging.
If you want something more civilized, we LOVE Mas on Downing St. ( no relation to Masa) and also Milos on W.55th. Both fab!!
Enjoy,
