Baby friendly restaurants downtown? Anywhere with a change table, really. We took our little dude everywhere when he was a baby. |
What's up with Ben and Izzy's? Apparently they are opening April 9th...yum! |

I hope Pancers doesn't close. It fills a big void in the area, especially since Coleman's closed (which I liked for some reason....). Ben and Izzy's looks good but there is something to be said for the traditional dingy deli. |

2013 Food and Restaurant OPENINGS Wish I could get there - living in Toronto. Between Mother's and the Anchor bar...a weekend roadtrip might be in my future! |
2013 Food and Restaurant OPENINGS Mother's Pizza is (re)opening its doors in Hamilton today. I hope it's as good as the early years...I grew up around the corner from the original and it was a staple for everyone in the 'hood. Birthdays, graduations...everything. |

Where is the best Mexican in Toronto? Was at El Trompo on the weekend. It was $10 for 5 tacos...not outrageous. The Pastor were delish - the Tinga was tasty - chorizo good. Not the cheapest but tasty, fast and fresh. |

We went last night. I have to say I was really impressed with the food. As a picky eater, i ate a strictly vegetarian meal...and I was full and satisfied. The desserts were delicious and also lovely to look at. I didn't find the prices too outrageous. The service was good. Not sure what URSA was like before but we went with friends who had been before and they were happy both times. |

Why do no national burger chains have veggie burgers? In Canada, Harvey's is a national chain with an amazing veggie burger. Hero Burger and Lick's are also well known for their above average veggie burgers. |

2012 Food and Restaurant CHANGES and CLOSINGS Maybe. I have to say I went there recently - they have an interesting all you can eat small plates concept at lunch. Includes soup, dumplings, veg (guy lan...), entrees. it wasn't half bad.... |
North of Brooklyn Pizza (Queen West) I would love some actual NYC/ NJ style pizza...it doesn't look like this is it. Anyone know where to find some? |

2012 Food and Restaurant CHANGES and CLOSINGS Um...paper is off the windows...renovations? |

2012 Food and Restaurant CHANGES and CLOSINGS Spring Rolls at Yonge and Eg - papered up. |

Buca or Scaramouche Pasta Bar - weigh in! Scaramouche pasta bar. I agree - Buca is super noisy. I love Scaramouche Pasta Bar - it can be a fun vibe with great food and service and can get hopping. It's just not a hip place to be. |

Muskoka-bracebridge,gravenhurst,huntsvilla,balla... Agreed - the Farmer's Market in Gravenhurst by the Wharf is awesome. Great produce and prepared food in a fun atmosphere. You must visit 'The Bakery' in Gravenhurst. Their butter tarts, sausage rolls, pies, etc are the best around. |
Nope - only dinner. And it was gooooooood. |
Do tell more...i couldn't find anything on their website. do you need to reserve in advance? |

2012 Food and Restaurant CHANGES and CLOSINGS Not surprised at all. The food was mediocre at best. It's a huge space with decor that couldn't even compete with a mid-range chain. Unless the building is being purchased - didn't someone say that Hero Burger is moving in to where Seniors just left? I think since the head offices are being converted to condos....and ever since the theatres were demolished, Yonge and St. Clair has become less of a dining destination. ps - Divino on Yonge across from Capocaccia has also closed. |

My husband always gets the lox platter. I always get pea soup. Once in a while we get the perogies which are good. The mac and cheese isn't bad. My sister always gets the greek salad. I like the kasha and bow ties with lots of sauteed onions on top (the appetizer size). During the week it shouldn't be a zoo. |
Agreed - how can you slam patisserie la cigogne? |
Finally went last night - a Monday - 30 minute wait for a glorious patio seat. Really loved everything served. Strong delish Margs. Great friendly service. My friend and I were saying this could easily be in Austin (save the higher prices here). That's a great compliment. Want to go back now. |
Ha! I think the patio has remedied things. I waited about 40 minutes for a great patio seat (allowed me a bevvy at the Cadillac patio). Loved it! |

iso eats around yonge and davisville... Bamburger is delicious. Plenty of options there for veggies and vegans (i.e., veggie burger, portobello burger) and for those who want to eat healthily. |
2012 Food and Restaurant CHANGES and CLOSINGS I agree. The food was questionable but that patio really is amazing. And I see nothing wrong with the food at Earl's. |

Luminato 1000 tastes of Toronto at the distillery What we had - we generally liked... I thought it was an amazing event. PC did it up right - their free samples were great too! |
Merci! |

Thinking of heading down to the Distillery tomorrow. Does anyone know what time the festivities get started? |

2012 Food and Restaurant CHANGES and CLOSINGS Miami Grill in Thornhill is no more. |

Food Trucks north of 'downtown' Thanks for the link! |
Food Trucks north of 'downtown' Working at Yonge and Eg, I am suffering from an absence of decent places to eat. Any interesting food truck sighting is south of Bloor. Has anyone heard of plans for food trucks north of Bloor? |

Has Le Paradis Gone Downhill Recently? The food is okay at Jacques - however, I had terrible service there last year. My friend emptied her change purse on the table to find twoonies and the owner/ waitress was disgusted and pretty much said so. I used to love the place but that really turned me off! |
