If you had a choice, where would you eat? Jean Georges or Gordon Ramsay?

It's my husband's 30th birthday in August and I wanted to surprise him with dinner at a fantastic restaurant so I've narrowed it down to 2. Jean Georges and Gordon Ramsay. I'm having a hard time deciding what he'd like so I wanted to ask for some help from people that have been to both of these restaurants sometime this summer and what they ordered and recommend and prices if they can. My husband went to culinary school so he has a seasoned palate but hasn't had the pleasure yet of much fine dining in NY so I want him to be really pleased.

Jean Georges - a 3 michelin star restaurant but I hear dessert doesn't end the meal with a bang which to me is disappointing. Do they have an array of fair wine bottle prices?

Gordon Ramsay - I've only heard good things about this place so far and it IS a 2 michelin star restaurant and I hear his Prestige Menu is pretty solid but could I pass up Jean Georges to eat here?

Thank you!

Seeking Genuine Recos for a casual Lunch spot in Newport RI

Looking high and low for a great lunch menu spot for non pretentious foodies where the bill won't cost an arm and a leg for bad food. Any places with good lunch specials? Not overly crowded and not too far from Newport's downtown.

From what I've been reading, I'm thinking maybe Yesterday's Ale House, Panini Grill, Brick Alley Pub or The Mooring.

HELP:Best Eats in Rome, Florence, Bologna, Parma, Venice, Sorrento

Yes, I have done that but I've noticed that a lot of the posts are from 2006 and some 2007 so I'm looking for something a little more recent. We head there in 2 weeks.

HELP:Best Eats in Rome, Florence, Bologna, Parma, Venice, Sorrento

My husband and I will be visiting Italy on honeymoon to take in the lovely sites and most importantly, we are unpretentious foodies! We'll be hitting Rome, Florence, Bologna, Parma, Venice and Sorrento so if anyone has any good recommendations with the best cheap eats to a nice mid-range romantic and memorable restaurant or hole in the wall, please help us out! In Rome, we'll be staying near the Termini and In Florence, we'll be staying right by the Stazione Centrale. Also, if you have any recommendations on other towns to visit in Tuscany for food would be AWESOME!

Thank you!

Craving something totally out of the ordinary*

I live in Bergen County but willing to also travel around the northern tristate region.

Craving something totally out of the ordinary*

I'm sick of the everyday meals. Anyone got a little gem of a place to go and check out for something totally extraordinary out of the ordinary?

Ice Cream Shops in Bergen County

If you like Pinkberry or Yolato, I favor this place over those. Yum Yum Yogurt & Cafe on Anderson Ave in Cliffside Park. Just google them. Awesome fro-yo with fresh toppings and pretty good ice cream!

Another place is Fruits Gelateria on Broad Ave in Palisades Park that recently opened up. Awesome Gelato and they also have pretty good Yolato-ish fro-yo. It's on the main drag but I think it's right by Palisades Ave on Broad Ave.

Authentic Mexican in northern NJ (Bergen County)

there's a great little place in Edgewater, NJ on that winding road from Fort Lee that leads down to Edgewater called Salsa. A couple small tables to eat in (BYO) but people seem to usually take out. Great fresh food for cheap! Guac, nachos, burritos, salad are all really good~

The Best Thai Restaurant in Northern NJ

I recently tried this small take out place called
River Thai Food (well they have like 4, 2 person tables) in Edgewater on 24 Hilliard St. Amazing food. I was pleasantly surprised. Although they charge normal thai restaurant prices, it's certainly worth it and they deliver! Couldn't get better than that!

Call and order something if you don't believe me.

Good Eats in Northeast NJ By NY border?

Recently moved back up to the Westwood/Old Tappan/Piermont/Nyack area after not having been there for many years. I know there are a ton of great restaurants up here, whether they be cheap eats or finer eats. Any suggestions on where to take my tastebuds on an adventure?

Anywhere left to eat that we haven't been to (or don't like) in NW Bergen County?

I recommend CulinAriane in Montclair if you haven't been there yet. It's currently topping my favorite restaurant in bergen county. Check out these links for reviews:

Sunday Lunch/Brunch in Hoboken

I love Antony David's -

The atmosphere is rustic, like you're sitting in someone's country kitchen and the food is gourmet brunch at it's heartiest.

On the Red Velvet Prowl*

Anyone know where I can find some kick butt Red Velvet cake or cupcakes in Northern NJ? My favorite thus far is from 2 different places. The cream cheese frosting from Buttercup Bake shop in NYC and the cake part from Amy's Bread in NYC. Billy's Bakery is pretty darn delish too~

Chinese rest. in ridgefield pk on rt 46

Wanted: Good eats in West, NJ Parsippany area!

I recently moved out by Parsippany and I need help STAT! There MUST be some good restaurants out here from cheap eats to classy eats. ANY suggestions within a 10 mile radius? A food lover is becoming malnutritioned from the lack of knowledge in the West New Jersey area...
