Can you get eastern North Carolina style bbq and cole slaw anywhere in Atlanta?
i got hungry reading about BBQ so went there again yesterday--3rd time in 2 weeks-- Talked to Bill the owner--he cooks the pig for 12 hrs at 250degrees. The NC sauce is there and it was great--vinegary with flakes of pepper in it.He laos has wht he calls a SC sauce, which has mustard in it, as well as vinegar--then the std sweet suace--it was very good, as was the beers-I lived near Lexington NC for a few years the home of NC BBQ-and other then being pulled vs chopped, its real close--Im sure if one wanted chopped, hed do it

Need a reliable rec for early Friday night dinner Downtown
it gets mixedreviews-- ive never been . since the game starts at 7, you could cab it to a betterspot in midown like ECCO or veni vidi vinci, and when you return the crowds will have gone. The only other place where you are that i like, but gets a little touristy is Sun Dial in the Peachtree Plaza--- its a rotating restuarant deal and has excellent steaks
Need a reliable rec for early Friday night dinner Downtown
PS i checked my tickets and the game is at 7 not 8--not sure if that helps
Need a reliable rec for early Friday night dinner Downtown
thats going to be a busy night--Hawks are playing Celtics and the area will be packed--game starts at 8--if i were you id make reservation either in McCormick and Smick in the Omni or Ruths Chris near the Embassy Suites--im pretty sure theres a Teds Grill near Tab but Ive never been Ive had good meals at Dantanas too, but i wouldnt call it fine dining. I left a bad review on McCormicks when i went there during the SEC tournamnt, but i think the huge crowds ggot ti them

"This is Atlanta"
You will see I've left plenty of reviews of many places. Recently venii vidi vidi. If folks ask about high end steak places I as well as others make suggestions. No point in making duplicate suggestions and rarely do I see mckendricks mentioned even though its a superior place. Does that satisfy you

veni vidi vici
went there last night for a romantci birthday dinner. Hadnt been in a while so didnt know what to expect--it was beyond our expectations.Place was medium noise level, the ceiling is very acoustical and traps the sound, menu was excellent, lots of choices, and very good wine by the glass.I had veal meatballs as appetizer--very tasty, and tender with interesting sauce--wife had the special butternut squash soup, both were very well done--Had the roast sucklking pig, wife had St George scallops. The pork was very good, very tender, and tasty, served with a piece of the broiled skin--wifes scallops were outstanding.Paired the meal with a super tuscany wine.Desser was bread pudidng--expremely good.Service was well paced.Value was good--total was 137 including $40 for wine.Id go back.Server was Christen
