Sharaku in West Bloomfield—anyone tried?

If it is the place on Haggerty then yes it has been there for more than a decade and was very very good but I have not been there in a few years.

looking for simple, good vodka drinks that are not loaded with calories

Hello there.

I like to go with Vodka and Crystal Light. Crystal Light comes in various flavors and is good with the vodka, you could also add a little bit of orange liqueur as well.

We like the No VI Chophouse in Novi. Very nice steaks and they had a great mushroom soup when we were there.

Looking for good Mexican in Novi/Farmington Hills [DTW]

This was really good. Tried it today and the food was very good and fresh and the staff was friendly. Wife and I ate and had two sodas for under $15 including a good tip.

Will go back.

Best Ice Cream - Calder Dairy or Shatila (DTW)

Agree about the Guernsey's Butter Pecan. Used to try other Butter Pecan ice cream but realized none of them will ever be as good as Guernsey.

Best pizza joint near Penn Station?

I know this topic was from last year but I had a chance to try Lazzara's today and it was very tasty and a different take with a thin style square pizza.

Cool, busy little place at lunch.

Hell's kitchen/Theater district help for 7

Howdy All:

I hope you are well.

We are coming to NYC for some business meetings and staying around 49th and Broadway. There will be 7 of us including my boss and my boss's new boss.

Looking for a place that would make a good impression within walking distance with entrees under $40 each. I was thinking maybe Esca or Oceana, but really have no preference.

Just want something that they will all go "Great Choice" wanted to go back to Restaurant 9 to have their beef cheek pot roast again but the boss wants somewhere else.

Can anyone help? Any places have a quiet area for 7 people to eat? We are coming from all over the country.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Taqueria Alameda - Westland, MI

Howdy All:

I hope you are well.

Count me in on the group that loves this place. Went here for lunch on Saturday and had the beef, pork and lamb tacos which were just scrumptious with a little hot sauce. My companion had the burrito, 3 tamales and the fried plantains. The fried plantains were just so tasty that this will now become a regular stop for us.

I love all the little things about this place, the little grocery area, sodas from glass bottles, the tv playing a telethon in Spanish, friendly staff, small 5 or so tables, hidden away in a strip mall. So many good things.

Thanks to all for the recommendations.

Good Tex Mex or Mexican in Metro Detroit area

Howdy: I hope you are well.

Do you know of Senor Lopez is still open? I called the Ann Arbor number and it was disconnected, I then called the Detroit number and got no answer. It would be a shame as I loved the Pibil.

English tourist..first time in US...visiting San Francisco...after advice of good places to eat

Howdy: I hope you are great.

Not sure if you will have a car but if so I would recommend Fish in Sausalito, you get to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge, then you can have a wonderful seafood meal, the Crab roll is really good, along with some white sangria outside looking at the bay and the city.

Michael Symon - overhyped/overexposed?

Howdy: I hope you are well.

I would have to agree with what others here have said about Roast. I had a truly wonderful experience there, the food was very well prepared, enjoyed the bone marrow and our porterhouse for two was just tasty. We also had exceptional service that was there when we needed and not when there when needed. I also did not find it to be overpriced for our food and experience. I think I will have to try some of the others but it looks like from here that Roast may be a bit better then the others.

Lisbon - great food without romance ?

WOW! you were so very correct. This was the place that we saw. I went and had some spectacular what I would call regular shrimp with with salt and some oil. I also had the Jam Negra which was like the Iberico ham in Spain, so very very tasty. Then I had this Gigantic tiger shrimp that was prepared perfectly. Ended with a couple of glasses of 20 year old tawny port that was only 3 Euro a glass. Thank you so very much.

I will have to look above but if you have ideas for lunch or dinner on Saturday I would love to hear them.

Wow, thank you again.

Lisbon - great food without romance ?

Thanks for the Barcabela recommendation. We ate there last night and it was wonderful. We had some white wine and two types of ham. I had the lobster which they took live out of the tank, it was pricey but good. The gentlemen I was with had fish, sole and not sure what the other was and all was great. We finished off the meal with some vintage Port.

Any thoughts on the restaurant just across the street? I do not recall the name but it looked very busy as well, thought I might go tonight.

Little Italy is closed. Someone bought it a while back then there was a fire. It has been about a year since the fire and still closed.
