Anyone been to Union Sq. donuts? Great donuts! Steep price indeed, but very delicious. I had a chocolate chipotle (not my fave, but good), maple bacon (will haunt my dreams) and the dulce de leche cinnamon bun (sweet and wonderful). This will be habit forming... |

DC and I went last night and we can't wait to go back (but on a cooler day!) It was so hot in there! We loved the selection of canned beer, which helped us keep cool. We sat at the counter and had the pleasure of chatting with Patrick who was busy multitasking. Started with the pate de campagne- delish. The pickled smoked onions were wonderful. Pimento cheese toast was great as were the deviled eggs. We loved the variety of pickled veg. Highly recommend chicken and waffles- nice blend of savory and sweet. The special of the night was smoked prime rib which looked amazing. Will be going back asap! |

Where can I get a Ploughman's lunch/plate? Cheese, bread, mustard, something pickled... I had one last year at the People's Pint in Greenfield- a little out of the way. I've been craving one ever since. Seen any on menus in the Boston area?? Thanks!! If you're ever out by Greenfield, make it a point to stop by the People's Pint- great beer + food. |

Strange Pairings that Taste Uncommonly Good Love this post! Here are a few: --peanut butter stuffed jalapeno poppers- had them at a restaurant in NYC- so amazing --hot dogs in a heated combination of currant jelly and yellow mustard- don't knock it til you tried it --cocktail sauce and cream cheese on crackers --boxed mac-n-cheese with canned stewed tomatoes- oh yes haven't had any of these in years... that's about to change! For the adults: -- shot of vodka with a dill pickle chaser! |

Weekend of eating in Portland! Hey hey, We are spending a weekend in Portland and want to make sure we're not missing anything. Friday night: up in the air- possilbly Hugo's or Bar Lola Sat: We want to walk around and have a few small bites throughout the day- nothing big as we are going to Fore Street for a late dinner. Possibilities for small bites: charcuterie and beer at Novare Res, Duck Fat, J's for oysters, Nosh for burger and fries... What else?? Also, what other fun things should we do? Probably something that requires exercise... Thanks a bunch! |
