Best meal I ever ate:

Blanquette de veau at Pierre (Mandarin Hotel, Hong Kong). Bdv is my favorite dish and Pierre Gagnaire covered the entire plate in shaved white truffles (not the norm). Still, I'm always game for a double chili cheese (no pickle, no tomato) from Tommy's

In no particular order - Yung Kee in Hong Kong - amazing roast pork and roast goose; Angelini in LA - a great experience everytime; Rao's in NY - I've been many times and, while the food is not THE BEST, there's no better scene; Tommy's - c'mon, I'm born and bred in LA; Jimmy's Kitchen in Hong Kong - if you like "Chinglish" there is no better.

The Way to Cook by Julia Child, The Balthazar Cookbook, and a bunch of recipes my great-grandmother put together for my mother.
