Lack of quality control lately?

I was wondering if other people have noticed a decline in quality control at Boston area restaurants lately. I recently picked up food from two different Italian restaurants and one had part of a broken plastic fork in the pasta dish and the lettuce in the salad was completely brown. The other restaurant had shredded paper napkins in one of the pasta dishes. Will Boston be getting restaurant grades anytime soon?!

thanks

Chilean Hot Dogs or Completo

I think you can get them at the Rincon Chileno on 15418 Hawthorne Blvd in Lawndale CA

Sushi Zo for non-fish eater

thanks for your reply! yep it sounds like it's not meant to be for us together....

Sushi Zo for non-fish eater

I've read a million great reviews of Sushi Zo and would love to take my husband there for our anniversary. The only problem is that I don't eat fish!

We go to other sushi restaurants and I usually order teriyaki or other non-fish items. Does anyone know if they offer non-fish items at Sushi Zo? I know this sound crazy but my husband is such a good guy, I would like to take him somewhere he would love.

New List: Culver City's What Is Everyone Thinking?

I work in Culver City and this is the best it's ever been for restaurant options!

I totally agree that Tender Greens is overrated. I also don't like Scratch. Their menu is mediocre and I've seen the chef yell at customers.

I noticed that there is an M Cafe de Chaya opening up soon so I'm excited about another food option in CC!

Whats the best chocolate cake in Los Angeles?

Aphrodisiac Closed?

You didn't miss anything. I ate there once and it was the worst experience ever! The food was mediocre and the service was spotty at best. It took them 1.5 hours between courses!

Dinner suggestions for working parents?

Sorry! We live on the Westside but will travel for good food!

Chilean Food- Westside??

My mother is from Chile so I know some stuff about Chilean food!

The best things are 1)beef empanadas 2) pastel de choclo or pastel de papas (which is kinda like shepards pie with ground beef and either potatoes or corn on top 3) humitas (kinda like Chilean corn tamales) 4) any thing with dulce de leche 5)Chilean wine! There aren't any restaurants on the Westside but the Rincon Chileno in Torrance has GREAT food to go! It's worth a trip down there. There is a Rincon Chileno close to Vermont and Melrose but it's not as good. He'll have a great time in Chile!

Dinner suggestions for working parents?

Like many of us, I'm a working parent and don't have time to cook dinner every night (or most week nights). Are there any places places chowhounders can recommend that either deliver dinner to your door or you can order dinners for the week and I pick them up? Does this exist?

thanks for your help!

NOT SO FRAICHE FEELING

That's amazing!

About 2 months ago, a few workers and myself went to try Fraiche for lunch. We walked in to ask if they had space for lunch without a reservation (the place was half empty so we assumed the answer would be yes). The host took us to a table outside but we asked to be seated inside. He simply looked at us and said no. It was one of the rudest answers I'd ever heard in a restaurant of that "status". I would have understood if the place was full or if he had bothered to give us a reason such as the tables are reserved, etc.... But all we got was "no" and a glare. We left immediately and never went back. We work in Culver City so it's a shame that a local place has such bad service.

Looking for an Interesting and Healthy place between Culver City and Glassell Park

Ugo and Tender Greens in Culver City might work. Both are fairly healthy and not that expensive.

Cupcakes :: the Good, the Bad, & the Ugly...

I agree that Sprinkles is totally overrated. I had Crumbs over the weekend and they were ok. I really liked the Oreo cupcake at Jamaica's Cakes recently. The cake and frosting were "oreo-ed." Why is it so difficult to find a good cupcake?!?

Any good Thai food places near Culver City?

Thai Boom is bad and Natalee Thai is mediocre. I haven't had good Thai food in Culver City. There are some good Indonesian places on National and Motor that are pretty good though

Good Brunch in mid-town/3rd st & La Brea area?

I've been to both Toast and Doughboys and I don't understand why people wait at either place! Toast was ok but not worth the 20 minute wait. And the last time I ate at Doughboys there was about 20 flies buzzing around. I won't go back to Doughboys ever it was so gross!
