Best Burgers in Los Angeles

I wonder if it's the same people though. There was a place called Hole in the Wall ~30 years ago, on the north side of SM Blvd just west of Sepulveda. They served burgers wrapped in brown paper. Mmm.

I live on the other side of the hill now and my favorite burger is from Blue Dog behind the Whole Foods on Sepulveda South of Ventura. Fantastic burgers, you can tell they are ground in-house and hand formed patties. Lots of good variations. I haven't seen anything on Blue Dog on Chowhound, has anyone tried it? Fabulous beer selection too..

Looking For A Less Expensive Smoke House (Burbank) and Cafe Bizou (Sherman Oaks)

Have you tried Spark Woodfire Grill in Studio City? Nice steaks and chops, woodfired pizzas, and not terribly expensive.

Where to buy fresh Paneer (Valley pref)

thanks guys! real fresh paneer! the ricotta saltada was pretty good but too firm and a bit more savory than paneer. I will check out Canoga Park as it is a little closer than Atwater.

Where to buy fresh Paneer (Valley pref)

hey there eaters,
I have found an amazing saag paneer recipe and have made it once with ricotta saltada cheese as I couldn't seem to find fresh paneer here in the SF Valley (I'm in Sherman Oaks). I know I could go over the hill to India Sweets & Spices but... I'm lazy.

Anyone know where to find paneer? I guess I could make it myself, but see above on the lazy factor.

Thanks !
Kelly

Fabulous Dinner Rec Needed- Laguna Beach

In the same vein, we are going to Laguna for the weekend to visit my in-laws who are visiting from the east coast. Bringing our 3 year old son, who is pretty good in restaurants, but no fine dining. We're looking for a nice sit-down meal, no chains. Would Sundried Tomato be a good spot? What waterfront places are good/family friendly? I'm clueless to anything in OC. Thanks!!

Senor Fred

I always order the (pork? I think) wrapped in a banana leaf - it is really fabulous. DON"T order any of the typical greasy-Mexican-food, like enchiladas and tacos, they are boring and not worth it. For greasy Mex in the Valley go to Casa Vega, at Sr Fred's try something different.

Where can I find an amazing brunch in L.A. without an hour wait?!?

This is exactly what we are looking for too, my hubby is graduating on a Saturday in June and his mom wants to take up to brunch. Love Cafe Del Rey, but are there other options closer to UCLA?
