Best Chef Table for 4 People?

Providence is a seafood restaurant. If your mom doesn't like seafood it wouldn't make much sense to take her there. There are plenty of other restaurants that aren't seafood...
Did you mean table 8??

Interesting-thanks.

Tender Greens--stingy

I wouldn't know I've never eaten there. Although the food sounds good. I was just generally commenting.

No. Bread should come with soup! I was at BLD once and I asked for bread to go with my eggs or something or soup. They charged me for it and it wasn't fresh baked bread it was just two slices of the most basic bread around. Bread, water, salt and pepper are staples. Considering the mark ups, that should be comped.

Idiots. I hate it when restaurants are cheap like that---they really lose my business. I can't stand cheap!!!!

Oh, clearly I misunderstood. So are you saying it's harder to make alchol from plums b/c they aren't sweet? I'm asking, I really don't know anything about making liquor.

Bulgarini - Bad Experience

I thought perhaps it had dropped back into the ice cream. Sometimes when I'm at an ice cream shop, there is already a made scoop in the ice cream and then they give it to me, that really bothers me. I want a new scoop, but I still take it and pay for it, although if I see that I'll avoid that flavor. Am I making any sense? Do you know what I mean?

So the ice cream/gelato touched the metal, that's still unacceptable. I understand, sometimes one is just fed up with having to argue about everything these days, it just doesn't seem worth it all the time.

I haven't tried their gelato, but if I'm in the area I'll try it to form my own opinion (I don't know though, I don't like the service you received, we'll see). I live close to Weho, so I'm not sure that I'll be driving there anytime soon. I have yet to really try the gelato store in silver lake. I sampled it and really liked it, but it was too early for ice cream, well I had just had cheese at the cheese store so...

Bulgarini - Bad Experience

Did it drop on the floor or did it drop back in the container? Please be more specific??
B/c if it's the former then that's disgusting and I can't imagine that they would put it back on and that you would agree to pay for it. And if it did drop on the floor, then why did you pay for it?

Why would you want them sweet? Wine isn't sweet, gin isn't sweet...
liquor for the most part isn't sweet...

Best Tea in Los Angeles

The quality of their teas are sub par and expensive. It's a trick though, they put it in these tin cans and the packaging is fun so most people get fooled into thinking they're getting a deal or the quality of the tea is high, when it isn't. Miffy this thread should be good for you, read it.

Best Tea in Los Angeles

Go to Palais Des Teas(sp) on Canon Dr. B.H. their tea is awesome!!! I have probably 10 different teas from them in my cupboard. They sample. The teas are from all over the world.

AOC worth the price?

No you have to sit at the side of the bar...then you can see (almost) the whole dinning room.

that's a good question...I don't have an answer. But I've really enjoyed plum made liquor.

AOC worth the price?

I'm sure it's fun to sit at the bar, but your back is to the room and if you are out of town, first time there it's fun to look at the crowd and see who is coming and going. If you are from L.A. or a regular then the bar or the table would work.
When I take my out of town friends there I reserve a table-we usually see a celebrity, or the l.a. crowd, it's fun for them. I'm from L.A. so I would totally sit at the bar...I do that at BLD(actually that bar is conducive to watching everyone)

Cake for 25th Anniversary - this weekend

I called over there and they do sell it by the slice, but they don't have seating. It's all to go. That's fine. I'll probably try it this weekend.

Korean Food

That's right...I forgot about that. I was thinking of the Shabu Shabu places where they will not cook it for you. Yes, I like BBQ, Korean Tofu sounds good as well. What's the difference b/w tofu and Korean Tofu? I'm getting hungry and it's only 9:30a.m.

Korean Food

Yeah I used to eat there, but then I went to Koreatown and had "real" Korean food and I can't go back to that place. Also when it first opened yrs ago the food was better, then when they(most restaurants) smelled success they cut back on good ingredients. For a mall it's still a good place sort of.

Suhrabal Korean BBQ

I went onto your blog to check out Sa Rit Gol but you do not have any pictures posted. I googled it and somebody else had pictures. It does look good. Thanks.

Korean Food

Okay my foodies:

Where can I get great Korean food that I don't have to cook myself? I don't want to sit there and cook. I want them to cook it. If you can only think of the ones where you have to cook then go ahead and name it. Don't forget to include addresses...thank you!

I'm not driving to far, so if you could keep it local-Santa Monica to Downtown...

I'm going to check this place out. Do they sell cake by the slice?? Do they have tea/coffee?

I'd go there any day over SLJ, why anyone is still suggesting SLJ is beyond me...didn't you read the thread on that dump!

Mix flavors, Pinkberry only has two and frankly I don't consider the green tea a flavor...it does nothing for me.

Near Century City Mall

Breadbar is for lunch...
Try French 75 that way you can park at the mall, less hassle.
Haven't been to Gulfstream in a while, but last time I went it wasn't great. When they first opened it was really good. I was so impressed, especially since it was in a Mall.
Clementine is alright, more for lunch though and parking isn't always easy to find, in fact it can be brutal.
Houston's and Gulfstream I believe have the same owners. I don't care for Houston's...

The Great Doughnut Round-up

All the locations I've been to have the donut (B.H. S.M. Weho Rob. Blvd). I would suggest you go early though. With these donuts you really want to get them fresh otherwise the dough part tastes a bit stale. The cream is good. Come to think of it I haven't seen them lately--hmmm.

Maybe I'll get that tomorrow for breakfast and a little coffee....

MILK?

If you read one of my earlier posts on MILK I praised it, but now thats changed for me...I'm not into it anymore...truth be told the sandwiches and salads are not my fav. e.g. I don't like turkey, the cobb salad has turkey. Although I like chicken, it's very plebeian and boring. The cuban sandwich is what I liked, but then I had it for the third time and it was awful...weird. Like I said it could have been an off day. I liked the chocolate chip cookie.

MILK?

Well perhaps they've worked out their quirks. I liked the place in the beginning, but the last time really left a bad taste in my mouth--I'm not the only one to complain about their service...but like I said that may have changed.

It doesn't matter I'm looking for new places. MILK just might be too trendy for me at this point.
