Blackcurrants in Vancouver or West Kootenays

Looking to buy a flat (20 lbs. or more) of blackcurrants when in season. Either near Nelson/Castlegar/Slocan Valley or as close to where the Fraser River meets the Ocean as possible (inlaws can bring them here when they visit). Could be 20 lbs. frozen too.

No-one in the Kootenays grows these for sale, as far as I can tell after living here 2 years. I'd love to make blackcurrant syrup, jam, and whatever have you...I grew up on Ribena and miss the flavour.

I found a grower in the Fraser Valley but they just sell commercially and are not interested in selling 20 lbs.

Marzipan Carrots. Where can I get them?

Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a carrot cake decoration and I would love to find some marzipan carrots. I would settle for a sugar version if no marzipan is available but I would prefer the former. Any ideas?

Tawny Thick Cut Marmalade

Yes I think so, even if it's not the description "vintage marmalade" seems to bring up exactly what I'm looking for online. Any ideas on where to get it in Toronto?

Where to find frozen tempeh

Are there any Indonesian stores in T.O. that sell frozen tempeh? Or fresh?

Tawny Thick Cut Marmalade

About 7 years ago my sister came back from England with an amazing pot of marmalade for me. It was dark brown, full of giant chunks of peel, and had the most incredible flavour. As I recall the ingredients were just oranges and sugar. I used to stand beside the open fridge door with a spoon in my mouth and just savour a spoonful or two, it was so incredible. Or I would spread it on some Commisso's Italian whole wheat toast with butter.

I do not think it was Wilkin's, as I recall the label was not like that. Does anybody have an idea of what brand it could be or where I might find such incredible ambrosia again? Willing to order online if necc.

Hi my family went to Soul Food about a month ago and it was great as usual. Really tasty food, friendly owners, reasonable prices, and a great place to take kids. The owner's son, about 7 years old, plopped a box of his toys on our table (unasked) so we could entertain our 1 year old while waiting for our dinner. We'll go back again. They owner said the reason they were closed so long is that he does his own renovations...I guess it took some time.
