Mexican salsa?

If you were to buy the salsa from TPF, any idea what the shelf life would be?

53rd and 6th halal.

alas my followup searches have turned up empty

53rd and 6th halal.

Anyone who has been to NY knows what cart I'm talking about. Is there anything in LA that is similar? I got a strange craving.

I didn't even like the halal cart that much when I went there.

Last Meal in LA? Leaving after 20 Years

The obvious question is how much money are you willing to blow.

Otis Jackson Soul Dog in North Hollywood?

Came back around for the chicken.

Dog was better the first time for some reason, but still damn tasty.

Mac and cheese is the best mac and cheese "side" (for less than $4...) I've had in LA. Fries were done very well. Chicken was freaking awesome. Not greasy at all, crunchy as hell.

Better than LFC, Roscoes, etc. I'd daresay it's my second favorite piece of fried chicken after momofuku's. Note I haven't tried Pann's or any of the other baller fried chicken in LA.

They do sunday chicken & waffles which I'm sure are miles better than Roscoe's too.

800 Degree Pizza Falls Flat

"6.45 before tax and tip for a 14" Neapolitan-style margarita pie made with good-quality ingredients"

that IS unbeatable. I'll denote 800' as an "must eat there" place.

Langers Deli #19 for breakfast ?

Yes, I know! =D

Langers Deli #19 for breakfast ?

I guess it's because I don't start breakfast until after 10am lol so I've never encountered that problem.

Langers Deli #19 for breakfast ?

The perfect langers breakfast is a #19 + fries well done + corned beef hash on the side.

Langers Deli #19 for breakfast ?

oh my god the line for this will stretch all the way to the noho redline station.

Fish and Chips

big willie's grill in burbank

fresh fish n chips + 40's and blunts. what more could you ask for?

Omakase at Mori Sushi: A Pictorial Essay

"In contrast, it was far less than my $450 sushi omakase lunch (lunch!) at Sawada in Ginza back in November (yes, for one person)..."

O_O

Burnt ends etc.

great burnt ends @ kansas city bbq in NoHo. Burnt end sandwich is srsly stellar. Spicy BBQ sauce is also great if you like spice.

Omakase at Mori Sushi: A Pictorial Essay

sounds and looks epic(ally expensive)

Looking For Restaurant With Great Bone Marrow / Marrow-Based Dish

The prawn saved the dish for me, I didn't like the marrow very much. It could (and should) have been cooked down more IMHO.

Salade gasconne? Or maybe just raw foie gras to purchase?

I've heard surfas and direct from hudson

http://www.hudsonvalleyfoiegras.com/foiegrasmarket.html

Meatball Subs

that's the one.

Did anyone happen to go out for dim sum to celebrate Mother's Day?

pretty sure the wait was 2 hours anywhere w/o a reservation.

Meatball Subs

I was not impressed. Meatballs blew out of the side after first bite (ie bread could not withstand contents of sandwich)

Please Magic Johnson + Guggenheim, make this happen

"Wurstkuche for a start. 800 Degrees pizza would be nice. Ricky's Fish Tacos? Porto's? Bludso's BBQ? Beard Papa? Sweet Rose Creamery maybe? I can dream."

LOL RFT can't even handle lobster taco day, let alone dodger stadium.

Porto's could handle it though!

Meatball Subs

Reporting back, found the meatball sub to be pretty good.

Meatballs had good flavor, nice texture (not to dense not too fluffy), bread was nicely toasted/crusty and maintained it's form (ie sauce did not break through the side).

It was like 4-5 meatballs + sauce + mozz + parm on bread, toasted, with a light sprinkling of herbs. Closest representation to the fantastic meatball sub I had in NJ thus far.

TAM O'SHANTER

Guess you better stick to Lawry's for your prime rib fix OP

what are the best foie gras dishes to splurge on before the ban?

http://www.hudsonvalleyfoiegras.com/foiegrasmarket.html

$89/1.5lbs

How much is it at Surfas?

PRIME RIB

I'll go ahead and offer a dissenting opinion and say that the prime rib I had at lawry's last year was the same quality as the one I had from lawry's 4-5 years ago.

I was actually better than I remembered, and that spinning salad is awesome.

what are the best foie gras dishes to splurge on before the ban?

I really want to hit up Animal's foie gras loco moco.

LA Cheap Eats Food Tour--The Aftermath...

The mango smoothie is also the best mango smoothie I've had.

I have never, ever, had a bad meal at ____________and I have eaten there over a dozen times!

Looking at the RM menu, is it possible to get out of there under $100 after tip with only soft drinks?

Carne Asada Burrito or Taco in Los Angeles

"North Hollywood El Taco Llama's"

closed, now a Falafel Hut

I have never, ever, had a bad meal at ____________and I have eaten there over a dozen times!

the pasta station is pretty awful, but whatevers. The cornbread is serviceable and they have the ingredients to make a mean beet salad, and there are always coupons in the sunday paper. Soooo SP = a light AYCE meal that's perfect post-hangover. I can get a full AYCE meal + drink for less than the cost of salad @ SweetSalt

LA Cheap Eats Food Tour--The Aftermath...

impressive! thanks for the report back.
