Newly opened luxury restaurant?
I love the Standard, going for my second time tonight. Pork was fantastic and the chicken for two is beyond amazing. My service wasn't bad, but I do hear some mixed reviews.

New spots that I love: Marea, Aureole, Locanda Verde, Aldea, Bouley, The Standard Grill (and new Standard Hotel with really fun beer garden).
Hotel: Smyth Tribeca, a Thompson hotel in Tribeca is great and very trendy. So is the new Thompson LES, with a fun restaurant/bar called Shang.
The Harrison or Allen & Delancey for good date spot?
I have a reservation at the Harrison for Saturday evening date. Is this a good romantic spot? Or should I do Allen & Delancey?

Definitely check out Standard Grill. Macao Trading Company is a fun spot also. Locanda Verde, Aldea, Hotel Griffou.

DARK SEXY NYC BARS FOR AFTER DINNER INTIMACY!!
Definitely King Cole Bar at St. Regis - close to your dinner and very sexy and intimate. Raine's Law Room in Gramercy is great (dark with plush couches). I also like the Room/OtherRoom and Casa la Femme bar in West Village.

Just walked by on Sunday and looks like they will open any day now! Menu was up - great selection of wines by the glass, paninis, small plates.

Quick update (spelled Upholstery Store). Great spot for drinks. Went last night before diner at Commerce. Same owners as Wallse. Small bites also and if kitchen is not too busy they are happy to let you order off the Wallse menu

L'Artusi, Malatesta or Locande Verde?
Never been to Malatesta, but I'd say L'Artusi is a great pick for that kind of atmosphere. LOVE Locanda Verde but the noise levels are pretty crazy.

So I went last night and loved it! What a cute spot! Nice wine list and really good food (had pork loin, my date had the scallops).

I just went to a great spot last night on a first date, this tiny wine bar/restaurant called Balon (right next to the Etats Unis bar). So cute, nice wine list, back garden. Food was delicious and atmosphere was perfect! No website but the number is (646) 641-2282
