Your Thanksgiving 2013 Menus

Thanks mazwe. I won't know until I arrive what I have in the way of utensils/tools. I may have to play it by ear.

Your Thanksgiving 2013 Menus

Hello
I am hosting a Thanksgiving dinner in an unfamiliar kitchen (rental condo) for my son and any other soldiers that won't have a place to go this year. I'm expecting between 4-6 young men for dinner although that number could change and I likely won't know until the week before or possibly later.

I am wondering if anyone has the excel spreadsheets that were posted last year? I think it would be really helpful for me to use them. also, as far as a menu, I am really unsure how much food to serve. Is a 20 lb turkey large enough? And in addition to stuffing, taters of some kind, and the green bean casserole that my son insists on, how many side dishes will I need? I was thinking of three others that serve 6-8. But I don't want to run out of food. I am planning on apps too.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Milestone Birthday Cake -60 wonderful years

Hi,
I am tasked with finding the best bakery in Portland to produce a cake for a dear friend's milestone celebration . As I am not local and will be flying in the day before for the festivities I need the assistance of fellow hounds to help me with my decision. Thanks for all your help!

Picnic Dessert

Our company will be hosting a smallish (about 25 adults/kids) picnic next month and we are looking for some dessert options. We will not have access to a kitchen but will have coolers available. I want something a little different, I know that I can run to the market to purchase ice cream and or cookies but don't really want to. Looking for a recipe that will appeal to kids and adults that while simple to prepare will be yummy and memorable. Thanks for any ideas.

Breakfast/Lunch in Dallas

Thanks air, my first visit to Dallas so forgive my ignorance. I'll be flying into and staying at DFW.

Breakfast/Lunch in Dallas

I'll be in Dallas next month for a business meeting being held at an airport hotel. Looks like I'll only be able to get away one morning for breakfast/early lunch. Can anyone recommend a great breakfast or lunch option that is fairly easy to get to? I have to be back at the hotel by 1pm. Thanks so very much...

Portland - French Toast

I'm on my way to Portland tomorrow and am looking for a restaurant that serves an amazing french toast featured on a recent Rachel Ray show. Does anyone remember which restaurant was showcased? If not, I'm open to other opportunities to chow down an amazing breakfast. Thanks I appreciate your help..
