What AC restaurant will you miss most?

I'll miss the Belgian beer selection at the Mussel Bar.

Palermo's III on Lower Ferry Rd makes a great Trenton style tomato pie. A must-go for me when I'm in the area.

Brewery type setting needed for 30th bday party

I second this recommendation for Harvest Moon in New Brunswick. They have an upper floor for private parties.

World of Beer - New Brunswick

I was there before the Rutgers basketball game on Thursday night. Seated immediately at 5:00 although the place was mobbed by 6:30.
If you're into craft beer, this is the place for you. The wait staff is required to take a 'beer class', so she undstood the beer menu. We had Weyerbacher Double Simcoe IPA, Troegs Perpetual IPA, and Stone Ruination. All tasted fresh enough. Food was passable..ordered Italian flat bread and bratwurst on a pretzel roll.
Although I had a good experience I understand the beer menu does not always keep up with what's actually on tap. I have learned that there is a World of Beer app for your phone that provides real time tap lists at all of their locations.
I will be back, but plan my visits far from their peak times.

bbq and beer fest at Monmouth this weekend

This event was run terribly.
Although the lines weren't long at all (except for Local Smoke), the beers being poured were mainly those that can be found anywhere. Yuengling, Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, Blue Moon, etc. Where were the local brewers? Where was Kane, Carton, Flying Fish, or River Horse?

The pourers knew absolutely nothing about the beers they were serving. We even had a comical moment where one pourer actually served water into the sample glass due to water leaking into the empty bottle while sitting in the ice tub.

I wasn't expecting much to begin with, but I certainly won't bother going again.
The only positive was enjoying the pulled pork, brisket, and ribs from Local Smoke.

Good Burger Milkshake Place Suggestion

You want a good burger? Go to Rossi's in Trenton. Forget the milk shake though.

Atlantic City...reccomendations?

No need to be afraid of AC. Great place to eat, drink, gamble, and entertainment, My favorite non-casino restaurants are Knife & Fork, Dock's Oyster House, and Angeloni's.

Marilyn had it about a week and sold the building. I read she will hold the liquor license. Johnny Mac intends to run it for the gay community.

Atlantic City No-no's?

Sorry that you had a bad experience, but Knife & Fork is a must for me in AC. Never had a bad meal there. K&F and Dock's are the 2 restaurants I frequent the most. I like to avoid all of the in-casino dining.

Red Sauce Italian in/near Atlantic City?

Angeloni's at the corner of Arctic and Georgia. Excellent wine list. IMO better than Angelo's.

Atlantic City - Dock's or Knife and Fork Inn?

Same owners. I've had great meals at both places. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go to Knife and Fork.

Brickwall (Asbury Park)

I was there last weekend. I understand there is a new manager there. He's a beer guy who plans on rotating the taps frequently with craft brews (great news!). I didn't notice a difference with the food.

What's one thing you've never eaten that you wish you could try RIGHT NOW?

I've always wanted to try a durian. It can't be that bad, can it?

Bayou Cafe Freehold

Been here several times. Last time I was there, I had the exact same experience as Tojo. Plantains were ok, but the breadsticks seemed "microwaved" and my jambalaya had a one-dimensional Frank's Red Hot taste to it.

On a prior visit, I ordered the blackened catfish, and I enjoyed it...so I'll stick with that. The oxtail stew is also delicious.

"New" Harp?

What's the deal with Harp? Now comes in green packaging rather than blue, and the label says something about an original Irish recipe.

I don't like the sound of this. For those that have tasted both, can anyone comment on the taste difference?

Your "Go To" Beer?

One of the biggest decisions I have to make is what kind of beer to drink when at a bar or restaurant. Living in NJ, my favorite brewers are Victory, Flying Fish and Dogfish, so i enjoy many of the brews offered by these wonderful brewers when I am at home.

It's rare that I see these on tap though (or available at all). Usually, a Sierra Nevada wil be on tap, and that's what I would order. (Thankfully, since this is one of my favorite beers!)

So, i am asking, what is your "go to" beer, when the pickings are slim outside of Coors-Coors Light-Miller-Miller Lite, Bud-Bud Light, Heineken, and Corona?

Also, do you find yourself bored with the typical beer offerings at many restaurants?

Maxim Magazine's Beer List (it's bad)

Did you see the comment from "branson" at the end of the article?

"Hey dipshit the light in bud light doesn't stand for calories. It stands for the shade of the beer"

Someone should educate him.

Beer with pizza

Victory Prima Pils is an excellent choice, and one of my favorite brews. I also do not like to get too fancy with my "pizza beer". For this reason, I usually choose Rolling Rock. A Vienna style lager is a good idea and something I will try.
