Can anyone suggest some places to pick up puff pastry dough or frozen biscuit dough, preferably someplace around the L line?

yo, credit where credit is due. That's from Voodoo Donut in Portland, OR, and my favorite there is the Arnold Palmer (made with iced tea mix and lemonaide frosting).

I'm sort of a culinary novice, but one thing I've really nailed down is French Onion Soup. I'm at a bit of a loss for what to serve with it, though... any suggestions beyond a simple green salad?
