Opentable Irritating Telephone Confirmations
I just hate it when some maitre'd interrupts me in the middle of the business day to confirm a reservation. Is there a reason why Opentable does not use email?? If the restaurant does not get a response to an email, then go ahead and call. Just wondering how others feel about this...
South Bay Favorites (VERY LONG)
Kamiyama (on Lomita) -- Peruvian Japanese
Shinsengumi (on Western) -- Yakitori
Musha -- Eclectic Japanese Country Food
These three stack up against anything in LA in my book...that said, the South Bay is still a culinary wasteland for top end dining...Chez Melange is no Melisse; Christine is no Lucques; the Depot is not even Nick & Stef's...in a way geography and population density works against us, but hey, I'm glad I don't have to deal with "3rd street type traffic" in my little corner of the world.
Good Downtown restaurant for this Saturday
Patina, Noe' (Omni Hotel -- often overlooked, but Gadsby's tasting menu is an adventure), Blue Velvet (hip vibe, cool restrooms), R-23, and finally, drive fifteen minutes and go to Providence. Sushi Gen and Roy's while very good are far from amazing.
