Comptoir du Relais- Paris Restaurants
Josephine Chez Dumonet doesn't fair very well according to the Z comment board( touristy, rude rushed service). However after reading the posts here most posters love the place.

I'll be in Paris in October. What are my chances of getting a table at Comptoir du Relais. I'll be there on a Wed,Thurs and Friday.I understand they don't take reservations so what day, lunch or dinner and at what time(hour) is best to walk-in?
Some of the other restaurants on my short list, comments and suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Le Regalade(St Honore)
Aux Lyonnais
L'ami Chez Jean
Bistro Paul Bert
Chez Dumonet
Reservations - is 2 weeks ahead enough time?
FINE LUNCH DINING in MANHATTAN?

DBGB Experience
I had a lunch reservation last Saturday and left before I ordered. Upon arriving at DBGB, what I first noticed was that it does not seem to fit into it's Bowery digs. Its facade and storefront does not seem inviting, instead corporate. But it didn't matter because I had great experiences at Bar Boulud and DB Bistro Moderne. I arrived for my 1:00 pm 15 minutes early but it didn't seem to matter since the restaurant was nearly empty except for a few seated booths. I asked the hostess when greeted if we could also have a booth and after asking another women at the desk and talking about which table to seat us agreed and she led us into the dinning area. The hostess led us to the last table near the entrance and exit for the wait staff so I asked if we could have the booth before it or another of the many empty booths. She seemed to balk saying that was she was told to seat at the assigned booth but said it probably was ok. We sat at the booth and were given menus, water was poured and I was looking forward to my meal when I was abruptly approached at the booth by the other women who greeted us and she told me that we couldn't seat at the table. I was shocked. I replied that there were many tables available including booths and that I was confused. She was not friendly but very stern and said that the table was reserved. i asked her if she was asking me to move and she said yes and we would have to return to the table she had selected. What! I asked her for her name and she replied Therese. I again said I did not understand what the big deal was about and that all we wanted was for her to accommodate our request. She held her ground and I was humiliated. At that point I decided to leave which did not seem to bother the manager, hostess or whatever her position. Instead I went down the block and went to Freemans which was busy, friendly and yummy. DBGB may be new but it should treat all it's customer as guests who matter especially in bad economic times. I predict a very short tenure for DBGB.

restaurant help
Need help finding a restaurant that serves serious food, has a nice design and a lively crowd. Similar to some of the restaurants I've visited: Perry St,. Gramercy Tavern, Eleven Madison Park, Town, craft, Public, A Voce etc.. Location and price don't matter. Do not want to wear a jacket or have to whisper, nothing stuffy. Any new restaurant suggestions ? I'm also in need of a post theater restaurant that serves late, Don't mind going downtown. Something fun. How about Schillers, Delicatessen, or Megu ?Already been to Buddakan, Balthazar , Stanton Social and Double Crown.

Need help in picking 4 nights. Two of these nights will be spent with 2 other couples.
alinea or moto
Thanks for the great replies. I forgot to mention that I've been to Blackbird and mk and loved both. I loved the buzz at Blackbird, is Moto or Alinea more suited to my tast? I'd rather not have to wear a jacket, seems to conotate stuffy. For my other night thinking: Sepia, one sixtyblue, maybe North Pond?
Again other suggestions welcome. Lunch/brunch on sat does not need to be top table. Seeing that I don't like empty dinning rooms, I'd prefer a popular and busy choice that serves good food. Maybe outdoor seating since it will be early May.
alinea or moto
Help me decide between moto or alinea. Love great food, great service and great design/interior, Please update the condition of both highly praised restaurants. I've read men need jackets at alinea? Does anybody think alinea or moto have slipped? I will be in town for two additional days/nights, any other suggestions. How about a great spot for Sat. lunch?
Socialista
Has anyone been to Cafe Socialista to eat. What is it like late night? Does the restaurant(cafe) get a crowd or is it just a lounge.
late night dining/drinks
Need another late night restaurant for after the theater. We have been to Buddakan, Stanton Social and Balthazar. All of them were lot's of fun. What about; Nobu 57, Megu, Allen&Delancey, Cafe Soicialista or any other suggestions? Any location or price.
A restaurant for an architect...?
Most mentioned I would agree with: Perry St, Town, Eleven Madison, The Modern, Public.
Add Spice Market and Buddakan. Buddakan is dramatic. The Grand Hall with its communal table is amazing. I keep seeing Grayz pop up on the board. Is it a late night place?
DB Bistro Moderne Lunch
Is DB Bistro a good choice for Fri or Sat Lunch? Which dinning room is a better experience?Any other suggestions for lunch. We like great food, busy atmosphere and not stuffy. Money or location are not an issue.
Perry Street
I recently had a great meal at Perry Street. The atmosphere is wonderful, service freindly, and the food was excellent. It is one of my favorite spots. You will be happy.
