Tallahassee Barbeque

I am not sure if anyone has been to King's BBQ, but it is pretty good. It is on Pensacola St. You get a lot of food for a great price, and its definitely better than any other BBQ place I have been here.

really good grocery stores

Maybe down in Miami the Publix's are no good. But I gotta say I would rather go to my Publix here in Tallahassee than any other store I have ever been to in any other state in the country! Publix is amazing! The one here was completly redone, they always have the freshest and most variety of produce. Great selection of wines and cheese. The deli and bakery never disappoint. Also we like to call the one we go to club-publix, since all the FSU girls get dressed up to go there. I believe it was actually in a playboy as a place to pick up chicks!!

Tallahassee~Sushi licious

I recently had a bad experience with Kitcho's. The food was good, but we got completely ripped off in the $$$ department.
We went for a birthday party. Five of us split, probably 7 rolls, and each of us got charged at least $40 a piece. Not being familiar with the place we couldnt really argue our way out of paying the high bill. So if anyone goes there make sure you write down what you get to avoid this happening to you.

Convection Oven fan

We recently got the LG true convection oven. Its great!!! I absolutely love having it. On mine you can either use it like a "normal" oven, or the convection. The fan really isnt loud at all. I barely notice it. It also only runs when I am using the convection setting.
In all honesty the vent fan above the stove is 10X's louder than the oven is.
I think that it is definetly worth getting, you will love having it. Makes cooking so much quicker.

Wine to go with Tandoori Chicken??

I am making Tandoori chicken thighs tonight, and I wasn't sure of what wine would best go good with it. Any suggestions?

Should the amount of tip always depend on the total bill?

I agree with you shelly....I always do the 20%. Usually more if it is a lower priced meal. I have to say though that I have left some "bad" tips, simply because the service was so horrible my five year old son would have made a better server. So instead of making a stink and speaking with someone about how poorly the server was I let that server know how extremely displeased I/we were by leaving a poor tip. This has happend very rarely, and usually come after being completely forgotten about. Not in a sitting chatting forgotten about, but instead asked for a bill and thirty min. later we have to wave down another server to get it. After that the server came out with a lame excuse that he was making an ice cream for us. To me that is where it doesnt matter how good the food was, that kind of service makes me never want to return to that establishment to ever experience it again. But that just MHO.

They way I see it, if you have the money to spend on a $100 dinner, then you need to have the money to tip the $20 tip. :-)

Italian vineyards and wineries.

Sorry for the broadness... She is going to be going to Florence, Rome, Milan and Venice. I am not certain of any side trips that they will be taking. I will have fun looking up all the cites and books that everyone has recomended.

Italian vineyards and wineries.

In May my cousin is going to be traveling through Italy and would like to know what is a good wine to get. My wine knowledge is not good enough to tell her what to keep an eye out for. So, if anyone knows of any places she should go, or good bottles to get, that would be really great!!!

Thanks!

Tallahassee~Sushi licious

Sumo-sabi is a good substitute for running up to publix for a quick bite of sushi, comparible price and taste. Unfortunatly it doesnt come close to comparing to Osaka....

Wine for Virgins

I know for my husband, who couldn't drink wine to save his life, actually really enjoys Pinot Grigio. Might be worth a try to ease yourself into other "harder" wines.
