Private Room for 20, Great Food, Brookline

This sounds great! I am deciding between Met and Cottage. Having lunch at Cottage on Monday so hopefully that will help make the decision. I really need a restaurant that is close to Brookline and is a crowd pleaser and I am hoping the Met or Cottage will meet that need. It has yet to be decided....

La Morra didn't work b/c they require a $3500 minimum and I am having around 20 guests.

So please help me out...I need a location very close to Brookline that is more on the upscale side and has a private room (preferably closed doors).

Again, a Tavern isn't quite high end enough but thanks for the idea. I'm leaning more towards Chestnut Hill either Met or Cottage.

Thank you, but Newton Highlands is little too far west...trying to stay closer to Coolidge, Chestnut Hill Mall is about as far West as we can go.

Is there anything in Kenmore Square. I am waiting to hear back from Island Creek.

These are both great options! I am waiting to hear back from the Met and Cottage event planners.

Are there any suggestions for the border of Brookline and Boston?

Thank you! It looks like it might work out with La Morra. I just spoke with them...waiting to hear back from the event coordinator.

Does anyone have any back up suggestions just in case? It can border Brookline and be in Boston or Chestnut Hill.

Great Seafood in Seattle

Visiting Seattle from Boston and want to make sure that during the 5 day visit we eat at the best restaurants. We love seafood, especially when it is prepared creatively. Also, a place with a view or great atmosphere is an added bonus.

Also, for lunch we like to keep it light with healthy vegetarian food, if you have any suggestion.

Thanks so much!!!

New London Area Dinner

I am hoping someone can tell me a great restaurant in the New London area that has at least one or two fish options. It looks like the casinos have a few but they are charging $38 an entree! Looking to spend up to the $32 for an entree. Any suggestions? Maybe in Mystic, Stonington, Old Saybrook or New London?
Thanks!

Most like Sage?

I would say Coppa is most like Sage but even better! It is located in the South End on Shawmut. Be sure to know that they do not take reservations and it is wait list only.

Convention Center Restaurant

Hi, thanks for clarifing. I am staying at the Hyatt at McCormick Place. The Latin Fusion sounds good. We would prefer not to go to a chain, a Chinese restaurant or a steak house. I would truly welcome any further suggestions.
Thank You!

Convention Center Restaurant

Hello Chicago Chowhound!
My coworkers and I are attending a meeting in the Convention Center area next week and we are looking for a restaurant that will cost us around $50 per person and works for a group of 10 people. Of course we would like a chowhound approved restaurant so I cannot wait to hear back!
If there is nothing good to eat in that neighborhood then we are willing to take a taxi.
Thanks!

Best Sandwiches in Boston

I love Flour Bakery for their fresh sandwiches made with house baked whole wheat foccacia, but I am looking for other places around that are just as good (or maybe even better!).
Thanks!

Prix Fixe

I'm planning to take some clients out for dinner on a small budget so I thought a prix fixe menu would make my dollars go the furthest. My cliens works in the financial district so I was thinking of a dinner place close to that area. The dinner will be on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Central Location in Boston

Hello All,

I'm hosting a speaker program, therefore I need a restaurant with a private room. I plan to have approximately 30 attendees. I will have attendees coming from all over Boston (Gov't Ctr, Fenway/Kenmore, Downtown, North End, etc.) and Brookline. What would be a good venue that would be easily accessble to everyone? Also, which place would inspire foodies to make the trip worthwhile.

Thanks so much!

Nashoba Brook Bakery-South End

I haven't heard anything else lately. However, it is a bit odd that they had to close the place down b/c the landlord wouldn't allow a cafe but another cafe is taking over that spot...

Non-chain chow in Danvers/Peabody area

I cannot say enough good things about Beverly! You will find an array of family owned restaurants on Cabot Street: Organic Garden Cafe, Mandrake, SoMa, Tryst, etc. Just go to Cabot Street and you'll have the best night.
