Faves at Mitsuwa Centinela's Food Court?

The pasta with pesto was very good, as well as the spaghetti with white clam sauce. Looking forward to trying Santouka and some of the Bento boxes.

Best quick and good teriyaki chicken bowl/Bento in Santa Monica?

The food court inside Mitsuwa Market on Centinela (x Venice) is a jewel in the Westside, imho. There are 4-5 eateries serving different types of ramen, bento boxes, rice bowls, and even pasta for $6-7 only. It's great quality food for a modest price. Enjoy!

Lunch at Tacomiendo Review

I also enjoyed Tacomiendo...until my Pollo Burrito blew up. The tortilla was unable to contain all the chicken, beans, rice, cheese, guac, and pdg inside. It was very good and hearty but difficult to hold together. Guess it's a great problem to have, an overstuffed burrito. Wanted to try the tacos but not at $2 a piece. Thumbs up for the salsa bar with four different types of salsa (dark, smokey one was best), pinto beans, pickled carrots/jalapeno/garlic/onions, radishes, chopped onions and chopped parsley.

I went to the one on Gateway and Pico; they had some interesting drinks on the chalkboard menu alongside the Mexican sodas and Aguas Frescas. They had juices called Immune Building Cocktail, Digestive Tonic and Body Cleansing Tonic. All were vege/fruit juice combos--in a taqueria!?! Only in the Westside!

Best Cakes and Pastries in LA

Red Ribbon Bakeshop is where my family goes for cake whenever there's a gathering. Their cakes are irresistible. If you like light, semi-sweet cakes, try their delicious, very suave Mango Cake. There's little chunks of mango in the cream filling in-between layers of cake. A big hit at an office party once! And if you want super moist chocolate cake, try theirs. It's not always displayed at the counter but if you ask for it, they'll pull one out from the back. It's divine with cappucino or latte.

And speaking of which, my delight is Red Ribbon's Mocha Roll. It's a very airy rolled cake with buttery coffee cream in the middle. It's on our table no matter what the occasion. There are other kinds of cakes there but these three are my favorite.
