Minetta Tavern or Keens Steakhouse?
Your nuts, Lugers is the best Porterhouse hands down. There is Lugers and then there are the Wolfgangs, Keens, Old Homestead's, (a few more), etc. Then after that class the Sparks, Palm, and others (aka the rest). Megu has probably the best Kobe beef in NYC.

Minetta Tavern or Keens Steakhouse?
Minetta Tavern is ok, really its more of scene, if you care about the quality of the food go to Keens! The burger is very good at Minetta, but that's about it. The lamb saddle at Minetta is pathetic compared to the lamb saddle at Keens. The wine list is MUCH better and divers at Keen's and get this more affordable (even by steakhouse standards). Will you see skimpy ho's and meat heads there, nah, go to a Meatpacking and a club for that, though those brainless and tasteless morons may be here aplenty as they HEARD its a good place to eat. My wife and I cook for ourselves and eat at plenty of fine dining establishments. We know true skill and passion when its in the food, at Minetta its just soul-less.

Wish SOBE - any good?
Not much detail on chowhound on any reviews for this restaurant. The menu looks very creative and quite delicious. We are doing Joe's for lunch. If you had one place for dinner for an original Miami/SOBE experience, where would it be? Right now we have a rezzy at Wish for dinner. We only have one night open for dinner this weekend.

Hi Souvenir! A great idea it is. So, unfortunately we are there on a Saturday when Taillevent is closed on the weekends :( We were thinking about lunch at Pierre Gagnaire, L'Astrance or Helene Darroze but are open to suggestions.
RER sounds like I thought it was...On a Saturday afternoon a taxi may be best.
Food suggestions? Restaurants?

Thank you for sharing. Taillevent was a name I ran across a lot in my research. I liked Gagnaire's website and will look into maybe having lunch there or Taillevent. How about Latour d'Argent? Michelen Stars are not necessary for us. Just a wonderufl, yet classical, degustation experience.

My fiancee and I will be passing through Paris on our honeymoon for one day (not overnight as we fly out on a red eye that night to our actual destination). We are flying in overnight from NYC. We love food and wine and go out to places like Daniel, Per Se and Cru a few times a year.
1) Lunch or an earlier dinner? We fly out at 11pm that night for an overnight flight.
2) Where? Attire will not be a that big a eal...we will prepare if we need anything more formal.
