Help! Anyone remember the movie Mr. Mom? Asian food dish..

Well, I'm now 37 and have still not tried these, so it is definitely not too late to contribute to this thread. I do finally feel confident that they are Bean thread / cellophane noodles. Confident enough to finally attempt to recreate that scene. I hope I am right and that it was worth the wait. Heck, if they just puff up like they did in the movie it will be worth the wait.

It seems like Bumble Bee Tuna has gone down in quality

Soon it will go from tuna fish to tuna "food".. Hey, I guess if it's good enough for cheese. *smh* Just awful..

What discontinued products do you miss?

Ok, but I think it was pretty obvious that I wasn't saying a recipe had been discontinued. Good for you, but I've tried both America's Test Kitchens' recipe and Pillsbury's and it's not the same. If you've never used a mix you wouldn't know this. Thanks for playing though!

Well, I'm pretty sure that since I can no longer walk into a store and purchase the mix, since it has been "discontinued" by the company it would qualify just like most every other product here that people are missing.

RUSTY- 3 Sheeps Brand "Fushan" Chopping knife -Clean yet So Very Rusty!

Can anyone think of a reason why an old (but clean) knife would consistently rust. Unless I dry it very quick and oil it, it will rust even while I'm chopping something. Will turn even onions colors. I feel stupid not just throwing it out. Can this make us sick? It is really "rust" in it's truest form? Is this not a kitchen utensil? I love to shop 2nd hand. I bought this in the kitchen section and can only find one other reference to it on the entire internet..and the person blogging was using it for cooking. The knife chops remarkably well. The whole situation is rather confusing. Thanks so much!

Help! Anyone remember the movie Mr. Mom? Asian food dish..

Ok, so I am 33 years old and for as long as I can remember I have been randomly asking people about a dish Michael Keaton made for his wife in the movie Mr. Mom. He takes these noodles(?) and throws them in a hot pan and they blow up to this massive puffball of crispy-looking noodles. It looked so tasty when I was 7 years old and still to this day, if I watch that movie, for months after I am quizzing people left and right . No one has ever had a clue. C'mon self-proclaimed Chowhouds, can someone please help me out? Solve a mystery that has spanned almost 3 decades. I need to be able to move on with this ..and eat it, of course! I have never posted on this site and if I can't find the answer here, man I'm pretty sure I won't ever find out! lol
