Best hot sauce in the LA area? Bottled or not.

i like sriracha alot, I would carry the bottle around with me if it was practical (instead I sometimes bring the chili sauces in packets from panda express). Sriracha has a good heat simultaneous with a really nice fruity bouquet.

Chestnuts-Westside-in shell-cheap?

Never roasted them before but I think I've boiled them, I believe it takes about an hour and isn't too difficult

Where to buy a Champion Juicer in LA/OC?

i think i saw them at Rainbow Acres health store in marina del rey

Chestnuts-Westside-in shell-cheap?

Anyone know where to get chestnuts in the shell (or roasted)on the westside inexpensively?

The Exceptional Sinaloan Seafood Chef of Mariscos Chente (Mar Vista) (or, Home of the Buttery Goodness that is Pescado Zarandeado!) [Review] w/ Pics!

Does anyone know if this place serves any alcohol or if one can BYOB or if there's corkage?

Los Angeles coffee - I'm calling you out (many boos, and one hooray)

HI Thi N,

I also have an aeropress and like dark roasts (like major dickinson blend), I usually make americanos from them with my aeropress. I've never tried Blue Bottle, wonder if I could try some of those beans you make at home (I'd be happy to pay)

thanks-

Aged balsamic vinegar?

I recently tasted some excellent 18 year old balsamic vinegar, it was extremely flavorable. Anyone have any recommendations on where to purchase a similar aged or older balsamic (for a reasonable price)?

Carne Asada Burritos at El Parian & Tacomiendo (Gateway)

So where can I go in LA to try a wood grilled arrachera carne asada? Is that what el parian has? thanks-

organic/free range/grassfed meat - where do you buy?

I wouldn't recommend buying ANYTHING from that company= my own opinion/preference.

Sabor a Mexico is Closed!

I remember stopping by there a while ago(the old location) and chatting with the owner. He seemed to be somewhat disappointed with the lack of business and I think he thought it had to do with the location and was looking for another one.I liked the food there (except the burrito which I thought was really bad-way too much rice-mealy) and wanted to try more stuff but never got around to it.

Best Burrito near Lincoln and Venice

my current favorite for asada burritos is the cemitas truck parked in front of Smart and Final a few blocks west of robertson on venice blvd., weekdays from around 11-2pm.

Chinese Food on the West Side

I like New Flavors Restaurant on Centinela just North of Washington Blvd- I always get their crispy (not the wet) orange chicken lunch special, I love orange chicken and its the best I've found around.

goat's milk

If you want 'raw' (unpasteurized, unhomogenized) goats milk, go to Rawesome in Venice.

Duck Fat

what do you mean by reclarify it (how is that done) and when/how often does it need to be done?

Thoughts on Best Burger in LA?

I finally went to TOPS yesterday after months of anticipation, hadn't eaten all day, ordered the Kobe burger and the small fries (even though I'd read the burger was big and so were the fries). The burger was big and the small fries were huge, I got ranch dressing with them, after eating the burger and two thirds of the fries I felt ill.

Moral of the story- just order the burger unless you're there with your entire extended family, then you can order the fries too.

Pigging out at La Playita

When I first moved to los angeles in '96 I lived a half block from La Playita for a couple months and used to get lunch from there every day. Burritos were 2$ there then! Recently I went by there and the burritos were getting close to 5$, I think, and for that price I'd prefer to get one from Tacos Por Favor or elsewhere.

ISO the best orange chicken and chow mein

I have eaten MUCH genuine Chinese food (homemade by Chinese folk, San Gabriel Valley, Vancouver and NYC Chinatowns,...) and I still love a good orange chicken.

Hate the orange, not the chicken!

where to buy local meat, dairy in LA environs

I would not recommend ANY of organic pastures products

ISO the best orange chicken and chow mein

lately I've been going to New Flavors in West LA on Centinela south of Washington Blvd. and getting their number 6 orange chicken lunch special- 5.50$ and very good, I'm sure they could tone down the spice for you. (they have another orange chicken too but the way they prepare the number six is tastier)

Chow Challenge: $5 lunch on the Westside => Cent. City, Culv City, WLA, SM, Brntwd, Wstwd, MDR and Venice

Go to Whole Foods, buy a head of organic romaine lettuce for about 2 dollars. Then go to El Pollo Loco and buy two thighs to go = 2$. Go home and put the thigh meat on the salad and add dressing.

SAPP COFFEE HOUSE

Finally made it over to Sapp's this evening to try the beef boat noodles (spicy)- #2.

Amazing! Way tastier than any bowl of pho I have ever had and definitely one of the top deals around for only 5$. If I lived nearby I would eat there frequently. Seemed like it might hopefully be healthy too.

Next I'm gonna try that other joint that I think is well known across the street. Any recommendations there?

Yuzando on Sawtelle

anyone know if their fish is wild or farmed? (I don't like to eat farmed)

LA weekly's best (motorcycle shop) espresso?

thanks all! You guys are good!

LA weekly's best (motorcycle shop) espresso?

Several months ago there was an article in the LA Weekly about the best espresso (and cappucino) the article's author had had in LA , which was bought from a place that also functions as a motorcycle repairshop- apparently, the owner is very big into coffee too.

Anyway, I lost the article. Anyone remember the name of the shop?

thanks,

Iateitup

Buy fresh cream?

I would NOT recommend this companies products under ANY circumstances. If you want WELL-sourced raw dairy, I recommend the Raw garage/coop, in Venice, next to Groundworks, Wednesdays noon-8, Saturdays 9-2.

Cheap Eats in LA?

How about the snackers at KFC? I prefer the buffalo and barbecue versions, myself. 1$ each.

Tacos por Favor!!

I like to pay 50 cents extra and have them put mole in my chorizo and cheese burrito. Oh, the happyness!

Oinkster

In N Out has secret menu items? What are they please?

Phillips BBQ- disappointed
