Farmer seeking ideas for a CIDER DONUT SUNDAE

I thought about this too. I mean, a cider donut ice-cream sandwich has GOT to be a good thing, as long as it doesnt crumble.

Farmer seeking ideas for a CIDER DONUT SUNDAE

Yes, the birth of the Cider Donut Sundae needs to be an event...a contest...on the farm, in the fall, and I will definitely post it for all my helpful pals. I will float this with Farmer Mark. He will be blown away by all of your ideas.

However, I am worried that the donut will get soggy....what do you think? Put donut on top? break into pieces and place around the ice cream and toppings? Freeze the donut? Shield it from ice cream meltage by protecting it with a layer of, say, caramel?

Farmer seeking ideas for a CIDER DONUT SUNDAE

My pal owns a large orchard in Central Mass (cant disclose name as yet) and for fall 2012 he wants to debut a cider donut sundae in his farmstand. He's already making cider donuts that are outrageous. How do you all think a cider donut sundae should be made? Your ideas go right back to the farmer, and I for one am pumped to try them all. Thx!!!!

6' subs ? Any BIGGER?

A couple of years ago we got a 6' sub from Stop & Shop for a party and it was a huge hit. We're looking for something comparable or bigger. Anyone know of other places with truly giant-sized sandwiches for a party? 3' is common. 6' is rare. I personally want a 10' sandwich; I could then die in peace, fulfilled. I love sandwiches. Love love love.

We are in the middle of Mass; can get to 91 corridor, rte 2, Pike, Worcester with ease.

Dinner for large party in Orleans or Chatham?

We are entertaining a group from California to Egypt in 2 weeks on Cape Cod. The group will be about 15 total. Mixed ages so not too loud, not too gourmet, but local. I was thinking Joe's in East Orleans, somewhere in Chatham but not the Squire, anybody been to Nauset Beach Club or Mahoney's Atlantic Grill in Orleans? Ideas? THANKS

Best Local Cheeses from a REAL Farmer?

These are all in Central Mass -- Westfield Farm in Hubbardston, on Rte 68. www.chevre.com. The nifty little farm store has their goat cheeses but also whatever microbatches they're working on. They also sell online and at various stores. I've had a wonderful cheddar, and my fave is Hubbardston Blue which is a bleu goat cheese. I can vouch for Smiths Country Cheese below; their gouda is world-class and actually they are within15-20 mins of Hubbardston off Rte 2. Try it on a burger and die happy. In Sterling, Crystal Brook Farm is another goat cheese producer, smaller than Westfield Farm.
