Kosher Spanish Caterer?

It may or may not exist but I'm looking for a caterer that can provide spanish or tapas style food for a party in CT... but the caterer has to be kosher. Does anyone know of a place that can do this?

Thank you for your time!

Bedouin Foods?

I have a somewhat random question: what kinds of foods to bedouins eat?

I ask because I run a youth group and the teens would like to learn more about bedouin culture, with part of that learning process involving making/eating traditional bedouin foods. Trouble is, I can't find info about this anywhere!

Tips and help would be very much appreciated. Thanks for your time. :)

Lower East Side: Good Bialys or Pickle shops?

I'm planning a youth group trip to Ellis Island and on the way back to Connecticut we'd like to stop at a bialys and/or pickle shop to pick up snacks for the ride. Do you know of good places on the Lower East side?

Thanks!

Solaia or Barcelona in Greenwich?

I'm looking for a nice restaurant to take my brother to for his graduation dinner. I've heard mixed reviews about Solaia and have been to the Barcelona location in Norwalk. Still, I'd love to know your thoughts about Solaia & Barcelona in Greenwich.

Anyone been to either recently?

Also, if there are other Stamford/Greenwich area restaurants that you'd recommend above these please do share!

Best places to eat for a "foodie day" in NYC

Thanks for pointing out RGR's tour Roze! It looks great but my husband and I are vegetarians so most of the places on the tour would be out of the question. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post though, I really appreciate it. :)

Best places to eat for a "foodie day" in NYC

My husband and I will be celebrating our third wedding anniversary in a few weeks and one of the things we'd like to do is spend a "Foodie Day" in NYC. We're thinking breakfast, then a museum visit, then stopping by a cafe, enjoying a nice dinner, etc - basically the whole day will be framed by our taste buds. :)

Here's my question: with only one day in NYC we're not sure what would be the best cafes/shops/restaurants to visit. What would you recommend? Pommes Frites (www.pommesfrites.ws) is already on our list as we've been there before and loved it, but I know there's so much more in the big city!

Thanks for your help!

Israeli "Aroma" Coffee Recipe

I'm trying to find a recipe for coffee the way it is served at a chain of Israeli coffee shops called "Aroma." I had the pleasure of drinking one of these beverages - complete with a square of chocolate on the bottom of the cup - about a year ago, and whether it was the cold weather or something else, it was one of the best cups of coffee I've had. Does anyone know how Aroma makes it's coffee, by which I mean, what are the ingredients used in each serving? Coffee and chocolate... but what else?

Where do Dumph (Dumpf) Noodles Come From? [Moved from Home Cooking board]

The other day I made a dish called "dumph noodle," which is essentially sweet bread baked in ramekins then smothered in creme anglaise. It was delicious and I plan to write about the recipe on my site soon, but the question that has been hounding me is: where does dumph noodle come from? And why is it called dumph noodle?

The only thing I've been able to find on the internet is a reference to either an Amish or a German origin. Anyone else know some of this dish's history? I'd be much obliged!

Vegetarian Sandwiches to Take to Work

I'm looking for a few awesome vegetarian sandwich recipes, ideally for sandwiches that can be prepared in the early morning and will keep (i.e. not get soggy) until the afternoon. Any ideas?
